Team thoughts after 1/4 of the season

• Keith Brooking is still a very good player. I don't know how long he can keep it up, but I wish we had a whole team full of Brookings.
  
• Romo is playing with little to no confidence since the Giant game. He's afraid to make mistakes now. That's a scary thing. If he doesn't turn things around mentally, we're in for more trouble. QB and CB are the two positions where you need to be mentally tough.
  
• Jason Garrett looks to be over his head. His play calling during critical situations is questionable at best. The best play we have for that 4th down is to challenge Champ Bailey with Sam Hurd? Are you serious? I still don't believe my eyes there. Future coaching expectations for Garrett have got to be lowered.
  
• Wade Phillips was coaching for his job before this season began. So I don't think much has changed for him. However he doesn't exude confidence himself or strike any fear into anyone. But we all knew this, no news here.
  
• Joe D has this special teams playing well. We at least have one coach you gotta like.
  
• Felix Jones is the most explosive player I've seen play for the Cowboys in a long time. The offense needs his big play ability. If only he can stay healthy.
  
• Martellus Bennett needs to step up his game. It's like he thinks having a good preseason allows him to coast on through. He hasn't proven a thing. But I would have liked to seen a shot thrown to him at the end of the game.
  
• Lot of season left and with the parity in today's NFL, anything can happen. It's how you finish rather than how you start (Cowboys started 3-0 last season, only to finish 9-7). Right now, we're an average team.

You forgot a few things:

The Roy Williams trade is looking bad. Now using the asthma excuse?

The offensive line kills more drives than any unit in the league.

Ware is having a sub par year.

Spencer was a bad draft pick in the first round. He has 3rd--4th round talent.

Our safties are putrid.

The secondary could not stop a pop warner team with game on the line.

Beuhler was our best draft pick.

Wade has 12 games left.

Hamlin is playing like ***, a victim of the scheme, or both but Sensabaugh is a hitter and I like the guy.

Jenkins looked great. Scandrick played much better for the most part. Newman was having a solid game and with the position he had, "if" he had picked that last pass it would have been kinda nice. Instead it sucked.
