Teams that might take our DE targets

I actually have my fingers crossed that Harris and Takk go top 27....

I keep saying it's possible. It's a strange draft this year. Maybe we'll get the perfect storm of teams taking faster edge guys, three RBs, CBs, reaching for QBs and OT...and Barnett will slide to us.

Then again, probably not
I hope so I just don't see it

There are reports that a couple of teams have Harris way way up there even in the top 10, about where people have been putting Barnett in the mocks.

This obviously is the year there are 60 choices in the first round because nobody will make it to 28.

All kidding aside, this will be the first year in a while where it is so very hard to nail it down to a few players because it looks like the first will be very volatile.

This is such an odd year due to the depth of the talent pool. This draft isn't quite as top heavy as previous years but it is so deep with talent. You could make the bottom half of the first through the second round is riddled with similarly ranked players. The difference from pick 16 to pick 60 is seemingly negligible.

I just wonder about how reaches will affect things.

There are some areas ripe for it, like OT, C, ILB and DT.

This year is going to be crazy I think because of the lack of true talent at the top of the board. There's a bunch of good CB's and DE's but 10 different teams can easily rank the 2-7 prospects at those positions 10 different ways.

And then there's the QB's and OL of this class. I can easily see only 3 combined go top 27, but it's also possible 7 or 8 go

The draft is unpredictable every year, but this year it's a lot more unpredictable imo.

The only one that would truly hurt for me is if the Seahawks actually took Watt two picks before our selection. But, given how badly their offensive line sucks, I don't think they have that luxury, especially in one of the worst offensive line drafts in over a decade.

We've been operating under the false notion that Marinelli is magic and turns guys like Nick Hayden into capable starters.

I'm not pretending to know the answer, but I think the question is whether Rod chooses to do that to himself or not. Are guys like Hayden and Jack Crawford forced on him because of bad drafting/talent acquisition, or is it Rod being happy with crappy talent they tries really hard?
