Guys with Luck, RG3, Blackmon, Richardson, all set to go off in the top 10, and iF Tannehill goes before us as well, that would put us 9th in draft order, those 5 players, 3 of them QB's, 1 WR. and 1 RB, those arent positions of need with this team. so in a sense we should be getting the 9th best player in the draft. what do ya think?

No, we're picking 14 and I think we could trade down 2-4 spots.

I agree...the other teams have different needs so they will be picking positions we don't care about. Now if we can just be smart about our pick...

Technically nothing ever goes as planned on draft day.

yes we're picking 14th. but with the players slotted to go ahead of us, in all reality we are getting the 9th best player according to our needs, should another WR or QB go ahead of us that would even better.

I don't think you should have used the word "technically" based on its meaning, and that's probably why you got such snarky replies, CC (plus we have some naturally condescending members, haha).. but i understand what you were trying to say.

We should get the 9th best player on our board, because the other players who are going ahead of us arn't areas we would consider taking most likely. Like others have said, lets just hope we don't screw it up, ha. I wouldn't mind a trade back either, depending on who's left at 14. I think it would be a good year to trade back if the value is there.

Did you watch last years draft? I think our plan A was selecting Smith at 9 and that worked out.

Just because we don't have an immediate need for the position doesn't mean the player isn't on our board. I would be willling to bet that Andrew Luck is the number 1 player on our board.

Right. And everyone knew the Falcons would trade up to get Julio Jones or Jake Locker would go that high. I'm not just talking about our team.

I hope Jerrah just takes DeCastro at 14....don't trade down and screw it up. Jerrah sometimes likes to wheel and deal too much -- don't take the risk and please take the best option.

DeCastro will be a very good player for a long time. Selecting him will help the Cowboys right away and maybe we can stop complaining about he line for a change.

Im sure he is.. but im also sure there's no possibility of snagging him at 14. 0.

Yeah like somehow if there isn't a big perceived need that means the player at those positions can't be one of the top 14 players in the draft.

If we take DeCastro you can rest assured that wasn't a Jerry pick...Jerry don't take OL in the first much less in back to back drafts

If you try to understand what he was trying to point out, rather than taking every word he said too literally, it makes for much better discussion. Rather than just try to call him on what he said and make him look stupid.

I dont think so.any team would want Luck,RG3 or even Clairborne .
