let me get this right, ok if he wasnt singling out T.O. which does make sense, cause TO is doing good this year. Just the drops are way to dissapointed to watch... But in myhonest opinion Newman was really talking about ROY where all the hype is and not living up to it and all the trash talking. it just leads me to ROY and you know what if im right I think ROY would be the guy cause he hasnt been playing all that great lately I mean he doesnt even try sometimes.. JUST MAKES ME MAD AGAIN. Maybe Newman was just trying to wake up ROY with that comment.. what do yall think on my theory.???

Roy does nothing to self promote himself and reportedly isn't vocal at all, so it's unlikely Newman was directing his "shots" towards Roy. From what I understand, the front 7 of the defense was Newman's target.

I don't recall Roy Williams ever trash talking. He is struggling with the way he is being used, which is the wrong way. He knows he's struggling. He did not put himself in the Pro Bowl. Others did. I think he has pride and he is unsatisfied with his own performance. He just isn't willing to give the media the satisfaction of hearing him say "I'm messing up out there". And I don't blame him for not telling the mediots what they already know, but want to hear him say. He has been out of position in some cases and in other cases it was someone else's fault. The entire defense needs to take a long look at itself and make some changes IN A HURRY! What safety in the league would look good with no pass rush whatsover? None.

I'm quite familiar with the claim that teams don't throw at Newman, but teams didn't throw at Deion either and he still managed to make some plays. Newman is one of my favorite Cowboys but I'm not ready to to label him a shut down corner till I see him start to intercept some balls.

Spears/Canty have been solid vs run, just not making big plays.
