Terence Newman Groin again!

Terence Newman has been one of the most consistently outstanding CBs in the NFL since 2003. His production on the football field speaks for itself and has been documented.

He is a top 5 CB according to Pro Football Weekly and Rod Woodson. He's had one major injury. His consistency is his trademark. For anyone to say that Newman hasn't been consistent over the course of his career is beyond suspect. It's just plain not true and fiction.

If the Cowboys get Newman out of camp healthy, he's going to be just fine.

Newman is going to have a monster year.

I think the issue is the injuries TNew has had.

They are nagging things like this groin, or a high ankle sprain. Torn ACL, ok, you sit a year and come back stronger... the groin you play through it but never really heals and your play looks like bumpkus.

Also its an age thing. If T.O. had missed 9 games over the last 2 years he may very well be unemployed right now. But 31 at CB with a huge salary... ignore that is Newman and just weigh that versus a guy we could trade for like say Champ Bailey.

I tend to lump Romo and TNew together. They are key guys who need to play at a higher level all year this year. They get paid like superstars but are clearly less consistent than Witten/Ware.

Funny.

Champ Bailey injured his groin and missed major games last year.

Plus, he injured his groin while just running.

No player fell on him awkwardly during a non-contact drill.

Newman's groin healed. It was the hernia that caused the need for an operation. Newman tried to play through a major injury.

Didn't they say Newman could have practiced if they had wanted too?

IOW, it wasn't all that serious...?

newman is a solid cb, when he's not injured, but please, HOF? no way.
the last few years i would say he's injury prone, even if it's "just nagging" injuries.

I have been saying trade his injury prone self for a year now......sick of this guy's injuries

would rather trade you to ES

OMG again...wow ok, wait until he runs at full strength after a receiver and really messes that thing up. I think Jerry better do something abou this. It's gonna get ugly on the secondary. This part of the defense worried me since last year, many said the addition of our FA would help but that can only go so far...it's gonna be a lOONNNGGG season.

sky is falling!!! sky is falling!!!! 0-16 for sure!

Just be glad the receivers the Cowboys are facing this year are not that imposing. I'm sure Steve Smith will give us fits.

probably do as well as he did against us last time...oh wait

Well why should we wait that long Antonio Bryant can't wait to play us especially if were all banged up.

you would think after 7 years in the NFL, people would be able to spell his name right... :banghead:

The only real suprise here is that it took him this long to pull a groin.

What could we get for you and zman or whatever his name was?

So a beer sound like a good trade to me.

Is this the bit where you pretend Newman isn't injury-prone?

what does injury prone even mean?

doesn't blanket receivers?

it's preseason, wait till it matters and see how injury prone he is.
