Terence Newman

Once again your reading comprehension proves lacking.

Last time I checked you (and the dozen or so other "fact creators" that continue to argue this subject to death) don't equal "everyone".

Just you, not everyone.

Merry Christmas!

It is a fact that Newman has played average at best this year. Put me on ignore if you don't like it. Never said the guy sucks, but he's playing just as bad as Jenkins this year.

BTW.. there are far more people that acknowledge Newman has played poorly this year than there are who think he's played well.

Merry Christmas to you as well. lol

You won't even attempt to shoot one single hole in anything I've said even though I've shot so many holes in your arguments they look like a fishing net and you're knocking my debating skills? LOL

My arguments have been so solid you've had no choice but to agree with most of them.

I've been debating football topics on boards like this for 9 years.

Bro, I don't set sail unless I've charted my course and am well prepared unlike you and the other 3 Gilligans who just head out to sea and realize you're sinking and have no life boats.

All you've been doing is spewing sour grapes ducking every challenge I've made for you to poke holes in anything I've said.

You've been saying for 2 days my arguments are flimsy but I have you agreeing with almost every argument I've made except for the injury excuses you and the others keep hanging onto for dear life.

All some fans do is look for excuses why the team or certain players aren't performing well instead of coming to grips with reality.

You've said twice you don't have anything to argue about with me and were going to let this go but here you are showing up dusting yourself off again like Wylie Coyote after another crash and burn trying to catch the roadrunner....BEEP BEEP!

You're the one who started this and it's not going to end until they either lock the thread or you move on. I'm more than happy to debate with you but if you're just going to show up to spew sour grapes save it!
So, I'm done setting up Christmas presents for my son. Fun times!

Now, I don't know why I keep feeling compelled to get back into this, but this vortex of ignorance keeps sucking me back in.

I'm done debating the Newman topic with you, as I have stated. I just find it absolutely hilarious that you feel like you have the upper hand. You ask people to poke holes in your "argument" but you set yourself up with your own imaginary ground rules that will eliminate any chance of logical reasoning. You don't follow the rules of an educated debate, period. You don't know what it is. You are ignorant to what the ground rules are in what the world considers to be a reasonable debate. You should take time to look up "logical fallacies" because you employ many of them in your reasoning. Specifically, look up red herring and appeal to popularity. Your whole arguments rest on these almost solely. You don't permit any stats that you deem unworthy (again, you set the ground rules) and you dismiss any good play by Newman while cherry picking the bad and ignoring the fact that the rest of the defense is atrocious. There is no possible way for anyone to "win" this debate with you, and it has NOTHING to do with the merits of your argument. It has everything to do with the ground rules that you set up. You aren't making ANYBODY look silly, that's for sure. One day, you may actually learn about real debating, and may actually understand your follies. Until then, I'll just continue to attribute it to simple ignorance on the topic. It's not an insult, you just don't know any better. I feel like I'm trying to teach a dog to speak and understand English, by using English to explain it to him.

You say I'm agreeing with all these things that you say? What, exactly, are you saying other than Newman as played below his norm, that I'm agreeing with? You haven't swayed me ONE BIT!

Merry Christmas!

My stance is stronger than Jobberone who can't even remember what he posted 3 days ago. The dude called me a liar now he's hiding under a rock somewhere. My stance is stronger Than CCBoy who sounds like Howard Cosell on crack.

My stance is stronger than yours because like the rest of them you keep claiming Newman's subpar play is due to some injury that no one in the media is inquiring about.

You've been acting like your his personal physician mentioning all the shots he's receiving and saying how painful this and that can be.

How do you know what he's feeling right now? Have you heard or read anything from the team or the beat writers who are always snooping around for a story?

Like I keep saying there's a only a few of you on this board who are claiming he's hurt. How credible is that?

I ask because I know that no one can poke holes in what I'm saying. Newman is in decline and it's been evident in his play for awhile now but it's become very apparent this season.

There is no ground rules but you have to come up with something credible to support your position that Newman is being hampered by injuries and you can't. Having a few armchair fans from a post board agree with you isn't going to give you the artillery to poke holes in anything I've said.

My opinion is if Newman's struggles are due to injury Garrett would have received alot questions in regards to it. I have yet to hear one question regarding whether injuries have played a part in Newman's subpar play this season.

You have one fan here 41gy# who's as bias as it gets when it comes to his boy Newman. How credible is anything he has to say about him?

Do agree with him that Newman is currently a top 5 corner? LOL He's not objective in his rose colored crossed eyes Newman has never been beaten.

I haven't read through this entire thread yet I have no doubt you've made a wondeful case against Newman.

Just a few questions to honestly ask yourself......

Is it more important to you to be right about Newman or for the Cowboys to have good left CB play in 2011?

How would you feel if he came back to earn a 1st team All-Pro selection in 2011?

I want Newman back in 2011 for a few reasons.
1st and foremost, we have bigger fish to fry.
I've seen plenty of positive plays from him in 2010 to think he's still got it.
Open field tackle on against the eagles this year. Very good and much needed play at the time.
Deep post pass defened against the Saints one or two plays before he was beaten deep on that last Saints drive.

I believe Jenkins was outstanding in 2009 and Newman was very good.
Why have both their play declined in 2010?

Its nearly impossible for CBs to look even competitent when the whole defense sucks.
Little pass rush, poor run defense and terrible safety play.

We have enough past demonstrated good to very good play from both Jenkins and Newman to assume they both can start on a SB caliber team.

I'm certainly not going back to tell you what you've posted that I don't agree with! You're living in a fantasy world, little buddy!

It's just impossible to debate someone who is ignorant to their errors in logic. In fact, I do feel as if I've banged my head into a wall. Thanks! Now I need some ibuprofen.

There's alot of things concerning the Cowboys that I would rather not be right about and Newman's play is one of them.

I would love to see Newman return to form next season but the reality is his best days are behind him. He played well tonight primarily because the Cardinals aren't any good and they have a rookie QB.

The fact that Newman played well tonight is further proof he's not hurt. When I see Newman running, cutting, jumping and making tackles I don't see an injured player.

I want to make it perfectly clear I have nothing against Newman and pull for him every week just like I do all the players for the Cowboys.

For the Cowboys to be successful players have to play well. I'm not one of those fans who are saying Newman sucks and should be cut.

I want him back next year because he gives the team depth and experience but the Cowboys have to start soon grooming a young player to replace him in the next year or two.

There's no question our play at safety has hurt our corners more than anything. Going from Hamlin who was bad to Ball who's been worse has created all kinds of issues in the secondary.

I've put most of the blame all along for our ineptitude against the pass on our safeties but both Newman and Jenkins have struggled. Jenkins play this season has been worse than Newman's and he ended up having another bad game tonight.

Newman has shown in the "past" he could start for a SB caliber team but he hasn't shown that this season.

Making plays against a 5 win team with a rookie QB isn't the same as making plays against a SB caliber team that has a SB caliber QB. As for Jenkins he's had one good season out of three and regressed BIG TIME this season.

He's been so disappointing I don't know what to think with him. If he's unable to bounce back next season the Cowboys are going to have to start looking for his replacement.

Thank you. If more people had a basic course in debate or philosophy, they would realize how completely bunk at times other peoples' arguments are, but also how sketchy their own arguments are when they aren't careful.

The poster you've been debating is perfect example of a guy who forwards complete nonsense as if it's fact and basis his contentions off of faulty assumptions by which he makes unsubstantiated assertions.

BTW, I think T-New has played poorly overall this season, but I can understand your beef with said poster.

You just don't know what you're watching in the secondary. The guessing-wrong-then-taking-a-victory-lap routine is getting really old.

You can understand his beef because you're another one who still has an axe to grind. Take my advice and don't jump into this you've taken enough abuse from me already. If you're just showing up to air out more of your frustrations PM me and air them out off the board. This thread needs to die!

Wow, is right...T New was one of few actually showing up at points in the game, making plays. Against a rookie QB, there weren't turnovers once again...and giving up two early TD's through slipping on the turf, and lazy catch habits, the game changed. NOT because T New was on the field....

as to a realistic approach to insights in the Dallas secondary, even a competant reviewer of talent would have problems. Much less a poor example of brow beat education that you present...get a life, or give up your day job of hall monitor.

Wow. You are completely clueless on this topic. How many posters need to explain it to you before you recognize that maybe everybody is right?

You just don't know what you're watching in the secondary. The guessing-wrong-then-taking-a-victory-lap routine is getting really old.

You're saying I'm the one who's clueless on this topic? This is coming from a fan who insists Newman has played well this season. :laugh2: How many posters are going to have disagree with you before you finally see how foolish you look? So who is "everybody" that's right on this topic you and 4 other apologists? You call that everybody? LOL

Wow is right you finally formulated a post that can actually be deciphered without a secret code...congratulations!

Yeah Newman played well for the most part last night so appears he was able to overcome all his injuries you apologists have been making excuses about. LOL

He was running, jumping, cutting and able to make tackles without showing any signs of discomfort like he has been all season but fortunately he wasn't tested last night going up against a rookie QB.

We'll see how he does next week against a very good team with a hot veteran QB at the helm that will enter the game looking to attack him.

Why are people arguing about the best player on our secondary?

Jenkins has been so much worse than Newman it´s not even funny. What´s wrong. Does Newman not ¨keep it real¨ like Jenkins does, getting beat ¨repeatedly with ¨swagger¨ and cool dreadlocks?

That's all I'm saying. It's not exactly like anybody is expecting advanced philosophical discussions or a proper debate in here. After all, this is a football forum. However, a rudimentary understanding of basic ideas of a debate is required for a person to have any credibility. He certainly does not have that. He has no concept. In fact, I'm sure he had to go look up what the definition of a logical fallacy was.

The sad thing is, he thinks he is schooling people here. It wreaks to me of an immature kid who is a fairly smart individual, but is simply naive and ignorant.

The other sad things is, I actually wasted time formulating a post, but then I just saved it to my computer because he wouldn't hear any of it. I should have learned a long time ago from debating posters like this.

What a surprise the angry little man who said he was done with this a few days ago is back again blowing off more steam. LOL You're either a glutton for punishment or one of those who gets down during the holidays.

You can't poke a single hole in anything I've said because you agree with most of what I've said you're just showing up to fire insults.

Anyone who doesn't even attempt to debate and just shows up to brag about how much they make per hour and toss insults are the ones with no credibility.

You might as well accept the fact you've been made a fool of and move on and begin the grieving process.

[yawn] I'm in your head, buddy. Tap dancing!:lmao2:

And just FYI, I'd hardly call it bragging on my hourly rate when you have no idea what it is. I could be making minimum wage for all you know. The POINT was, I've WASTED a lot of TIME. I could have bought myself a really nice cheeseburger!:lmao:

Yes. That's what I'm saying. You're clueless on this topic. Clueless.

Look at the posters agreeing with you. Look at the quality of posters telling you youre dead wrong. That tells you all you need to know about this game of Idiots Poker.

Newman is, as I've told you all along, our best CB. He proved that again last night again with blanket coverage and his usual good open field tackling. If you can't admit that, there's no wonder you don't see what a solid player he really is.

You've been stalking me for several days repeatedly saying you're done with this only to return again and again to fire more insults and you're saying I'm in YOUR head? :lmao:
