Terence Newman

They'll never get it, Idg. They're the same guys that were probably in the "release Emmitt and start Hambrick" crowd back in the day.

Yeah. I know he's not going to come around. It's always easiest to blame everyone when things don't go well in a team sport. He's trying to back off by resorting to blaming the safety play and Jenkins. That's as close as it's going to get.

Still, I don't feel like giving them a pass on this one. poor KJJ gets the brunt because I keep the really dim bulbs on ignore. It is amusing that he thinks he's got a good point, though. Or that he's getting bolstered by a poster like ninja agreeing with him.

I'm not backing off of anything you're just looking to instigate. I've said from the very beginning that most of the blame for our struggles in the secondary are a result of our safeties. I challenge you to find one post from me that refutes that. :toast:

I've also said from the very beginning that Jenkins has played worse than Newman but this thread is about Newman.

Start a poll asking how many think like you that Newman has played well this season and you'll see you're one of the only fans here who thinks he has. LOL

Anyone who thinks Newman has played well this season has no credibility.

Look at you! Eavesdropping and then making pronouncements about who's credible. I bet it almost makes you wish your opinion carried any weight.

No worries, I'm sure some credible poster will come to your defense in this thread, eventually. Any idea who it might be?

I don't need anyone to defend me it's not hard for anyone to see that. :D This has been almost too easy for me.

There have been plenty of fans in this thread who've said Newman's play has been subpar this season.

These Newman threads wouldn't keep popping up if he was playing well like you claim.

Even those who are arguing with me admit Newman hasn't played well this season. LOL

Not one of you apologists have produced an article claiming Newman is injured because he's not injured.

High self-esteem in the face of all available evidence to the contrary is a good thing. Congrats! :D

It almost feels like playing a game of poker with someone who doesn't know the rules of the game. You then try to explain the rules to the person, but they refuse to acknowledge that your full house beats their pair of 2's. They simply lay their cards down and incessantly yell, "I win!" You simply can't play the game because the person refuses to follow or learn the rules of the game. Then, as you walk out the door in disgust, the person tells you how much he schooled you in the game of poker. It's comical in one aspect, but totally annoying in another.

The ignore list is a fantastic thing!

Lol, the way I described it to him was that he wanted to talk differential calculus, but he hadn't even mastered basic addition.

Show me some evidence that backs your claim that Newman has played well this season? Just because he starts doesn't mean he's played well so don't go there. LOL Newman hasn't missed a start all season but you insist he's injured.

The fact that he's playing is all the evidence I need to prove that he isn't injured and that your claim is nothing but an excuse. :D

You made one of the most ridiculous comments I've read on this board when you said Newman has been repeatedly beaten this season but he's played well. :lmao:

Explain how Newman has played well this season despite being repeatedly beaten? Have fun tap dancing around that. LOL

Find where I used injury as an excuse, or admit you're wrong on the topic. I havent said he's injured. I've said he's clearly our best CB. This is just another example of you going off half-cocked and off target. All players get injured. If they're too hurt to play, they shouldn't be in the lineup.

As to my all-CBs-get-beat argument, if you really think that's ridiculous, then you're only reinforcing my point that you don't know at all what you're complaining about.

My bad I forgot you're not part of that group of apologists who are using injuries as an excuse for Newman's subpar play this season because you're the only one claiming he's played well despite being repeatedly beaten. LOL

Him being our best CB isn't saying much when you look at what we have at the position. Like I keep saying he's been part of the problem in our secondary.

Now back to my question that you conveniently avoided explain how Newman has played well this season despite being repeatedly beaten? Answer the question!

I've answered that weak question over and over. I think the implications of the answer elude you. Newman has played well this year despite being beaten ("routinely" is your word) because all CBs get beaten. Discounting his play for something that all CBs do doesn't make any sense.

He still routes WRs well, holds good position, has good closing speed, covers the other teams' best receivers, and makes good open field tackles. He gets beat on good routes, on long developing routes when we don't get pressure, and by double moves by really fast players. He's been hurt a lot this year when safeties are slow to recognize up top. Otherwise, he's been pretty much the same solid player he's been for years.

You're in a group of fans who analyze plays based solely off of what you see in the frame after the ball has been thrown. This is no way to judge a coverage, and it's why nobody in this mammoth thread takes your opinion seriously.

The only thing that's weak is your position. Sorry but you still haven't answered the question and by the way I never used the word "routinely." :toast:

You claimed Newman has played well this season despite being "repeatedly" beaten. You used the word "repeatedly." A CB who's been "repeatedly" beaten during a season hasn't played well and anyone with a clue will tell you that.

Naturally all CB's even very good ones are going to get beat "one in awhile" but explain to me how any CB can be beaten "repeatedly" during a season and still play well? You can try twisting things all you want in an attempt to divert but it's not going to work.

You don't agree with the others I've been arguing with but you won't say anything to them because you have an ax to grind with me and want to form an alliance with them strictly because they oppose my views that Newman's struggles aren't a result of injury.

The others are in agreement with my position that Newman's play has been subpar but you don't agree.

They're blaming his subpar play on injuries and you don't agree with any of it because you think he's played well this season.

I've been doing boards like this a long time and I've run into several that have your MO. What you're pulling clearly shows you have an ax to grind with me and it started way before the Newman debate and it's obvious it's been festering.

If you think you're going to stalk me day after day insulting my intelligence and acting delusional on a topic where hardly anyone on this board agrees with your RIDICULOUS position that Newman has played well this season despite being repeatedly beaten you have another thing coming.

You can keep firing back with senseless drivel all you want but I'm going to leave you no choice but to debate this topic everytime you show up. The more you divert to avoid the questions the more credibility you'll lose. :D

If you were smart you would have bailed like the others now I have you cornered and your only way out is if this thread is locked or you've finally had enough and take off.

ONCE AGAIN explain to me how Newman has played well this season despite being repeatedly beaten?

It'd be great at some point if you explained what you think the word "repeatedly" means. That's probably the source of the disconnect.

I'm trying to keep my disregard for your position to the thread topic. You are clueless about this topic. Utterly. But don't take it as a personal insult. If I crossed the line in that regard, it wasn't intended.

It's adorable you think I might be stalking you. I'm replying to your posts in this thread. That's it, isn't it? Are there other threads where we're replying to each other? I dont think there are. Maybe we have a different definition of stalking, too.

Probably the first thread ever with accusations of stalking and eavesdropping being thrown around.

You keep calling me clueless on this topic but you're the one claiming Newman has played well this season despite being repeatedly beaten. That's one of the most clueless comments I've ever read. LOL

Go see how many fans you can find who share those exact same sentiments. :laugh2:

The word "repeatedly" means over and over, often, frequently, time after time and again and again.

It means that Newman hasn't played well this season because he's been "repeatedly" beaten. Repeatedly beaten and playing well doesn't go together...capiche?

It's obvious you didn't understand the meaning of the word or you wouldn't have used it because it supported my position and completely refuted yours.

Dude, you committed a major gaff and you're insulting my intelligence? LOL

Just like PBJ you came looking for me in this thread because you have a bone to pick. You've been following me around like a bad odor.

You won't argue with the others I'm arguing with even though you don't agree with their position because they oppose me. You'll chum around with anyone as long as they oppose me.

It takes a real weak individual to back someone they don't agree with simply because that person opposes me.

Realtick is another weak minded fan who also has an ax to grind with me from a previous debate he's still stewing over.

He entered this thread to take shots at me even though he admitted as he was insulting me that Newman hasn't played well this season.

That's solid proof some of you have an agenda and are still carrying some battle scars from a previous encounter. It's always the posters who I make look silly who end up insulting my intelligence. LOL

They call me stupid because I made them look stupid.. How's that for logic? LMAO!

Like I said I've seen this same MO from several others in the years I've done these boards. It's the only defense some of you have.

Some posters can't deal with fans like me and end up getting frustrated which causes them to show up in threads simply to take shots when they see an opportunity. It's a cowardly move but it's all they have.

The intelligent fans on these boards understand how to roll with the punches and don't allow others to get under their skin. They're able to maintain their cool and don't allow anyone to see they're flustered.

They know when to move on before getting into deep and leaving themselves looking bad in front of the board with no graceful way out but to run and hide. You made the mistake of sticking around too long now I have you pinned.

I want you to address some of the comments I've made concerning Newman that's given you the impression I don't know what I'm talking about.

I want my quotes and the LINKS where they can be found and I want you to attempt to break them down to prove your claim that I'm the one who doesn't have a clue. :D

If you don't make the attempt then it shows which one of us doesn't have a clue. I've shot holes in every point you've attempted to make so now the ball is in your court. Make your case or get lost!

If you're going to return tap dancing around with the same senseless drivel it's going to continue causing you to lose credibility and show everyone that you have nothing to support your position that Newman has played well this season and are just showing up to flame.

You don't understand the concept behind the word "repeatedly." This is why you're confused. There are a bunch of reasons why you're clueless re: Newman. Read the thread for clarificaion.

As for all that stuff you want to see, good luck with that. Maybe another poster will pull that nonsense together for you. I won't.

And, no, you really didn't.

Sigh...if only the ignore list extended to quotes. Let's at least get this one fact straight. I didn't "come looking for you", come stalking you, or any other nonsense you seem to flatter yourself with. I had no idea who you were until this thread, aside from maybe seeing your screen name from time to time. I couldn't tell you if I've ever noticed a thing you've posted, much less remember if I've ever responded to you. Just needed to clarify. Continue on with your egotistical, rambling drivel.

Newman may not have playeed horribly this year, but he certainly has not played well this year. I personally believe Newman has been pretty overrated by Cowboy fans for a long time. He has the basic athleticism, but I just don't see the instincts. It's rare that he bats down a pass, and rarer still that he jumps a route and intercepts one. The best talent he seems to have is that he generally can stay close enough to receivers to make the tackle and avoid a lot of yards after the catch, but he allows the catch nevertheless.
