Yeah, I agree. I don't think Steele would have such drastic drop in play from last year. I too believe he's not fully recovered from his injury/surgery.

How are we not going 2TE and giving Steele some help? Schoon may not be ready to contribute much in the passing game right now— but he is a big dude that can at least shore up some protection at RT!

Not only was his lateral footwork terrible, but his hand work was pretty bad as well. Looks almost like he's aiming and missing. Really bad technique on top of movement issues.

The good news is that they only have to go through the 2025 season to get to the point where he counts $6M in dead cap if they cut him. In Jones family extension terms, that's practically a home run.

There is an Eagles beat writer who gives his analysis of all-22 mid week after game. He was pretty critical of how the Eagles D tried to defend the Cowboys passing game noting that the pass rush bailed out the secondary so many times.

Main takeaway from his analysis? If the OL, specifically Steele, had held up better, Cowboys would have won and likely dropped 35+ on them.

Correct. It's painfully obvious on tape. Had our Oline performed better in pass protection, the Cowboys could have easily scored 35+ on the Eagles. Need to fix this Oline's pass protection. The run blocking definitely needs to drastically improve as well.

Agreed. Some of us noticed that about Mike Solari. Journeyman Oline coach whose Oline's have not ranked higher than 14th overall in the past 15 years. Cowboys need a much better Oline coach. They havd failed miserably with the last 3-4 Oline coaches, and it has affected the team badly.

Having a poor Oline that fails to run and pass block well, thus affecting your Offense's abilities is not an excuse. It's a fact that needs to get fixed if this Offense is going to be able to produce against the better Defenses in the NFL.
