This show is destined for the SyFy Channel if it's not canceled.

No way. It costs nearly $10m an episode to produce. That's probably the budget for an entire season of Sci-Fi original programming.

I liked the show. It isn't all about dinosaurs. There are some pretty good other stories going on as well.

The mystery of who was sent 1st into the time split is pretty cool. Learning some histoy behind the "sixers" will be pretty interesting.

All n all...It wasn't bad TV. I can see it doing ok. I watched the whole 2 hrs right after the game.

I'll catch it next week again.

I had the chance to watch it lastnight. I enjoyed it.

It is at least different than much of the same old stuff that is on TV. I may grow tired of this show but for now I found it interesting and entertaining and will tune in next week.

There is some thinking now that there were multiple asteroid hits over a period of years - all coming from the same big one that broke up and hit all over the earth. The combined effects began the end of the Dino's.

They DO know the time the big one hit in Yucatan; within a million years or so. So why they would not wait until after that to go would be a real mystery. Frankly the smart thing would have been to go back to just after the last Ice Age. Stupid premises for shows always annoy me; so I will give this piece of garbage the pass.

It seems like the natural evolution of the Jurassic Park Story Line. I was not all that impressed either. Everybody is walking around in a resort atmosphere but the reality is that in that time period, insects were thick as air itself. What killed the Dinosaurs were the pathogens that were transmitted through insect bites to the Dinosaurs during the Cretaceous Period, which is what I believe this is set in.

Unless the story line gets much more interesting and takes a Lord Of The Flies type story line, I think this series will be short lived as well. JMO.

I haven't watched yet but I believe it would've been more interesting had they settled during the same time the Greece civilization was starting up, or another civilization.. Maybe Ice Age.. What are the conflicts with this premise? Pissed off dinosaur, thats wonderful...

Not sure many shows could pass the authenticity test.

They should have gone back in time to just before Christopher Columbus created the United States.

I guess they figured you run the risk of offending people such as Native Americans who would need to be portrayed. With dinosaurs no one can get offended. :laugh2:

Why not just go back to the Thirteen Hundreds with a few Hundred men with automatic weapons, aircraft and armor. Then take over the world. That's what I would do.

The show is based on the time stream they accidentally discovered. If they went back 85million years in the same time stream they currently lived in, they would and could in a sense re-write history and themselves, from it.

Now since it isn't the same stream, they can do and write things correctly and save all of the polar bears of the world and the ozone.

Polar bears were alive 85million year ago right?

:D Terra Nova 101!

I get it now. They are re-writing some other time streams history.

The show was about as stupid as I thought it was, and had just as much environmental BS as I thought it would. And the CGI looked just as bad as the promos made it look. I don't think I have to worry about watching this show any further.

I just watched it. I actually liked it. Yeah it had a bunch of environmental BS and yeah the premise is a bit convoluted and doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but as someone else said, it's different from all the reality shows and other nonsense that is repeated night after night after night.

I saw a large portion of it. The acting was absolutely terrible. Especially that guy's son. Must have had a shoestring budget. I'm sure he is just intern acting as I would never pay that kid to act. Hell, I would pay him to get the hell off the show.

I like it. I'm glad I'm not one to get caught up in how realistic a show is, or if the historical context from 85 million years ago is correct (like anyone really knows, anyway). I thought the effects were good for a TV series. I like how the story likes are starting to take shape... there are obviously two factions, which are not fully explained yet. The leader of the colony & the leader of the Sixers seem to have some history together. There is the lost son story line, the drawings on the rocks by the river, how to deal with dinosaurs, etc. I'm looking forward to seeing how those pan out.

As to the astroid arguement... this is a quote taken from an interview with one of the show's actors:

"The other thing is that people are also very quick to dismiss the timeline aspects of it, saying that the Butterfly Effect would mean that none of this is possible. Or, “There’s an asteroid coming in 20 million years, how are you planning to deal with that?” “Why would you colonize the past? That’s a stupid idea.” There are these people who have contempt prior to seeing it, and it’s like, “Relax, guys. The people writing this show are really smart and they’ve considered all of this stuff. Just sit back and enjoy the show.”"

I'll keep watching... looks like an entertaining series to me.

Assuming they get more then 4 or 5 episodes to get any of this across.
