Stats are often misleading.

I suggest you get the Game Rewind package from NFL.com and use it to review all of TWills incompletions. It has a search function. You choose Cowboys as the team and enter Williams in the search box.

This...

Numbers only tell part of the story. Twill is open far more than it seems and he doesn't exactly have a ton of drops..

Sometimes the play just breaks down and Romo is either getting drilled as he's throwing the ball or he's looking somewhere else. And of course there's an occasional bad pass as well.

Dez Bryant first 2 yrs
108 rec 1489yrds 15tds

Terrance Williams
81rec 1357yrds 13tds

Williams is doing this as the #2. Dez did that as the #1. Williams is fine. END OF THREAD

Bryant wasn't the #1 his first year and in his 2nd year, Laurent Robinson stole a lot of targets.

Dez was the 3rd option his rookie year and missed a few games as well.

Not everyone team can have two thousand yard receivers like GB or the Broncos. Not to mention we don't throw it as much in previous years either. Fewer passes. A dominant run game. Two elite pass catchers (Dez and Witt). These will all result in role players not having enough targets.

I'm satisfied where Williams is right now given his 2 years in the league. Right now with all the targets we have offensively, he's giving us what we need. Hopefully he continues to grow and forces us to make a decision about giving him a second contract.

You are right, he also suffered a broken ankle.

Off season gets longer and longer. lol T Williams saved our butts on several occasion as well, he is a #2 WR Dez is going to get more his way, Witten is a safety net that Romo has leaned on for years now and with a RB who is running the ball as much as we have Williams is going to be limited in the catches he makes but with 13 TD in 24 starts not including 3 in post season. I don't see where there is a lot to complain about.

Would I like to see more from T Williams? Sure I hope to see more from every player on the team but by and large he did a very good job in the role he has.

Its amazing what the offseason brings huh lol

Alvin Harper was the same kind of WR that TW is for Dallas. A guy who did the unnoticed stuff but when you needed to pop one deep he was there. As is TW. Madden has corrupted peoples brains these days. There are only so many plays to go around.

Stole?

So witten and Murray and Beasley are stealing TWs?

He had to compete with Miles, Laurent, and Witten and at THAT time, he didn't have 100% of Romo's trust yet.

Maybe "stole" was the wrong word to use. Nonetheless I still feel this is very deceiving:

"Dez Bryant first 2 yrs
108 rec 1489yrds 15tds

Terrance Williams
81rec 1357yrds 13tds

Williams is doing this as the #2. Dez did that as the #1. Williams is fine. END OF THREAD"

well it is like some need a whipping boy. Would I like to see more from Williams? sure I hope to see more from a lot of guys but that does not change the fact he had a good season and made some critical plays for this team. Is he on the same level as Dez? No but then there are a lot of #1 WR in the league who are not playing at that level

Go head and put words in my mouth. If you can't see Dez wasn't the number #1 his first year, I got nothing else to say. He was a rookie who was also a return man. Broke his ankles, missed games, and you spew out stats that say Dez was the #1 receiver his first two years and Terrance was the #2, when any Cowboy fan would know that's not truly accurate.

TWill has made some clutch catches, seems to get open and at times, he gets shut down. IMO, he is what he is, a complimentary WR and I don't think he develops into a great one, just an average player, maybe a bit above.

With as much attention that was paid towards Dez, Witten and Murray, I expected him to dominate quite a bit more. Maybe that is the coaches or Tony's fault, I don't know. I am still waiting for his break-out game which may or may not ever come.

I do think Dallas can get a better WR than him but am happy as long as he continues to develop. But, if for some reason Dez goes elsewhere, I have no confidence in Terrance being the leader of the receiving corps and we will be hurting if he is the #1.

Are you and doomsday enjoying your circle jerk?

This isn't a crazy trade thread, or get rid of Romo thread. This has nothing to do with Madden.

This is about fans of a team discussing if there is room for improvement at the #2 wr spot. Its what teams do at the end of the year, they sit down and try to figure out realistic ways they can better their team. Fans like to do it too.

now, shoo

circle jerk, what you do with your free time is you business do not include me in it. I think this team has issues but I don't see Williams being a big issue and except for a few who have gone on about body catching yet Williams has also made game changing plays for this team. Does Dallas need a #2 WR? No I think we have a pretty darn good one right now. You want to talk defense I'm sure we will be more in agreement but I will not nit pick Williams when I see no real issue with him.

Here's what I've noticed about Williams. Most of the game he's invisible, however, he has made alot of clutch plays for us. He is pretty reliable when it comes his way

He needs to go. He and MO are in the same boat.

He nees to go or get bumped down the rankings. We can't have our number 2 option behave the way he is. He's more like a 4th option. The guy you bring in every now and then and hope he can get open deep.

Williams problem is he is a body catcher and Romo can't hit him in tight windows he has to give more space. Doesn't look like he is gonna change and use his hands. I thought he had 10 TD's this season.
