You don't get 1800 yards receiving (in a single season) in college without having some talent. Not sure why everyone hated on the guy -- maybe it was a corollary to Dwayne Harris being overrated.

He has just made a few rookie mistakes.. but hey, that is what Rookies do. I'm glad the coaching staff realized this and kept feeding him the ball. We needed to build his confidence level up and I believe that was achieved last Sunday.

This thread is absolutely hilarious. After the SD game nearly everyone was ripping TWill, saying he needed to be benched, etc. Now after a good game and a nice little stat, everyone is lovey dovey? Not trying to apply this to everyone, but many of you guys are bipolar.

Reality: Williams is a good rookie who is going to make mistakes and show flashes of brilliance throughout the season (a la Dez the last couple years) but will become more consistent in following seasons. Let's be patient.

I jumped on the idea of forcing him into the lineup.

The things they were having him do were just to much to ask for a rookie. It seems they simplified things last game and he showed improvement in play and confidence.

I felt like they were grooming him the wrong way and sending the wrong message to the team by essentially giving him the 3rd WR spot over a guy who went out and played his butt off for the team.

The potential for Williams was always there, but I'd rather see him earn his way. He's on the right track now.

Can you elaborate? I didn't think anything he was doing looked too complicated at all.

I seriously doubt that high percentage means too much at this point when only five games have been played and he hasn't been starting in most of them. Now, don't get me wrong, It's encouraging he had the fine game he did vs. Denver, however and it's much to his credit. If and when Terrance continues to excel at anything resembling that outstanding pace at season's end, it'll really be something to crow about. For the time being, though, let's just say things are looking up for Williams to have a good career. Hopefully, that'll continue.

Probably worded that wrong. What I meant is they came out and put him in situations where there was more risk than reward. For example, the only other INT Romo threw, there was very little upside of him slanting into the teeth of the defense, deep in enemy territory, but a ton of risk.

Opposed to letting him out run defenders and deep coverage and giving him more of a Rookie Moss type role where his confidence can grow and he can actually do more damage (to the other team).

They simplified things for themselves, not for him, by utilizing him better.

Gotcha, that makes more sense. That slant is actually the play I was thinking of...not exactly a complicated route and he still screwed it up lol

The guy is a rookie. For as great as Harris is when he gets the ball in his hands, sometimes the ball comes out of his hands. Too much for an NFL WR.

Very limited sample size. But we'll take it!!

It's the deep threat part of his game that could really open it up.

#Cowboys RT Doug Free is still @PFF's highest-graded offensive tackle. Free is graded as the NFL's top pass-blocker and No. 6 run-blocker.

I thought this was more interesting than the Williams tweet. Sorry for the off topic post, but I was reading through his tweets and liked this little fact.

If he can be even half of what he was on Sunday, we will lethal. Especially when Miles gets back.

I guess Witten was not lying when he said he's the best number 3 we have had since he's been here or could be. I was shocked to hear that over LR.....but I guess there is some truth to it.

Put TWill outside and AUstin in the slot where he's always done very well and yeah...that's not bad.

Healthy hamstring or not, I dont think Austin has the burst that has always made him so effective. His days of being more than just a chain mover are probably over.

they see him day in and out in practice, camp etc, so should have a very good read on his capabilities. I think that's why he started from game 1 and is showing steady progress each week.

Imagine what it'd be if he ran the right routes and didn't drop passes.

That doesnt even make sense.

He catches 8.4 out of 10 passes lol

Who-ah!! More more more...

Nice stat!

It is sort of a dumb stat.

He's got 16 catches on 19 targets. It reflect a ton of stuff that is really not at all evidence of him being great. First, a ton of those targets are on short, high percentage passes. He's only seeing single coverage so Romo could complete dink and dunk stuff to him all day. Look at the SD game. He had 7 catches on 8 targets. Every catch was short. Second, this is a remarkably small sample over 5 games. A couple of overthrown passes and he's back in the middle of the pack.

I ain't saying he doesn't show promise, but you people gotta use your brains when evaluating stuff like this.
