Terrance Williams leads all NFL WRs in % caught

It is sort of a dumb stat.

He's got 16 catches on 19 targets. It reflect a ton of stuff that is really not at all evidence of him being great. First, a ton of those targets are on short, high percentage passes. He's only seeing single coverage so Romo could complete dink and dunk stuff to him all day. Look at the SD game. He had 7 catches on 8 targets. Every catch was short. Second, this is a remarkably small sample over 5 games. A couple of overthrown passes and he's back in the middle of the pack.

I ain't saying he doesn't show promise, but you people gotta use your brains when evaluating stuff like this.

It was not meant to be quoted as nice stat like its impressive, it just shows he has been getting targets & making catches less than dropping them & I am happy to see that. Don't make stupid irrelevant comments on two words like you've read into it & know why it was posted.

Right.

It is totally stupid to give context to statistical analyses. Just look at the #s as if fantasy football was reality.

You don't get 1800 yards receiving (in a single season) in college without having some talent. Not sure why everyone hated on the guy -- maybe it was a corollary to Dwayne Harris being overrated.

Because he was not their pick. Myself I was excited about both Williams and the Randle pick. Looking forward to seeing Randle get some snaps with Dunbar down.

I think he's dropped one pass since the start of the season, correct?

Don't mind him. Just another agenda by a dude that probably didn't like the draft pick from the get go.

Very limited sample size. But we'll take it!!

It's the deep threat part of his game that could really open it up.

Yup. As several have noted... Nice start, but not even 20 times targeted yet. It's way too early to place stock in stats at this point. Any statistician would laugh at the sample size. Encouraging, but there's not enough to go on.

Yeah I saw that stat. IT's pretty crazy he's been that reliable.

He looked like an NFL receiver for the first time last week. I hope we see more of that.

What do you mean for the 1st time? He led in yards and receptions against The Chargers. He's just gotten smarter every game. We might have one hell of a 1-2 punch and Beasley looks like a great number 3.

Beasley was clutch in the Denver game. I am interested to see how well he does as time goes on. Hopefully he continues to contribute, but is will become progressively harder for him (as it is with all players) as teams get film on him and understand how we want to use him and as they discover what his strengths and weaknesses are.

He finally put a full game together with no rook mistakes. Getting better every week. I hope the trend continues. I'm starting him this week on my FF team.

Not really, I mean the worse they can do is double him and that will never happen with Dez on the other side. Receivers growing pains aren't the same as QB's. They're biggest learning curve is remembering 6 millions routes, audibles from the playbook, getting off the press and ball security. He's showing a pretty fast ability to learn the system. A bit faster than Dez honestly. Not to say he's better because we know at this point that's laughable but, he's a quick learner and I'm excited about his upside.

I agree that the likelihood of an opponent double teaming Beasley is probably not very high. The other team has a lot more to worry about than just Beasley, which at this time is no more than the 3rd or 4th option on most plays. But the longer Beasley plays, (and the more film teams acquire on him) his tendencies (and our tendencies on how we like using him) will become more evident to the opposing team. They may be able to use that info to limit his effectiveness, or not, but the information they gain will most definitely be used against him in the same way that once a team demonstrated T.O. couldn't beat competent press coverage it was pretty much the recipe for defending him after that point.

As he plays teams will have a better idea about what his playing speed is and how aggressive they can defend him. They will gain information about how well he handles press coverage and what routes we like to use him in. They will gain info about how often we run the ball with him in the game, and what his role is, if any in blocking in the running game. They will even study his body language to see if he has any "tells" about what his involvement is on any given play.

Teams do their best to learn what a player does well, and what his isn't as good at and try to make him do that which he is not as good at doing, if possible.

I could've swore he had two drops vs. NYG. Or maybe it was just one and the other play I'm thinking of is when he went full potato which led to an INT.

And he dropped one vs. SD.

I was reffering to Williams. T.O. just got old. However, he was also a #1 receiver not 2nd or 3rd. You're not going to have your best corner on the slot guy. Especially when your # 1 is Dez and you've Witten on the field. You rely on your nickel 3rd db and or a linebacker. His size and route skills if continued to improve are what will make him a great slot guy. He wouldn't last 2 seconds as a 1 or 2 receiver.

He had a rookie mistake just before the half. He should have went out of bounds and they could have got another play in to get closer for th FG try. I doubt he does that again tho.
