terrell owens td celebration

I compare Chad Johnson's celebration last week with TO's this week and wonder why TO had a penalty. That penalty gave the Dolphins a short field and they scored quickly after that. Lucky play, but still a score.

Speaking of penalties, does anyone think the new penalty for spiking the ball is a little ticky-tack? Uneeded penalty IMO.

TO used the ball as a theatrical prop. In this case, a camera; if I'm interpreting his celebration correctly. He's been flagged for using the ball before. Remember when he used it as a pillow? He should know better by now. Those 15 yard penalties on the KO hurt. It contributed big time to the Fins TD today. Johnsons celebration was on the sideline.

I don't know if he got fined for it or not.

I agree with the poster above who said the penalty for spiking or spinning the ball after a play is too ticky tack.

I loved the celebration and the popcorn somebody threw on the ground in front of that Cowboy sign equally.

I figure as long as he does it in the 4th quarter when we're up by 17, then I'll save myself the heartburn of getting all bent out of shape about it.

Don't know who you offended, but my comment wasn't actually directed towards you.

Reading this thread, you have a bunch of answers, but no one really knows. And for those who act like they do, because it seemed so obvious is hilarious. It wasn't obvious, not to me...and apparently not to you either.

Been there; done that. I asked an honest question about CowboyBlog yesterday and got a lot of a-holes with smiley faces.

i love his celebrations.........i was not sure what he was doing on this one.

it is brilliant!

my favorite is when he was a 49er and did military calisthenics.

It seemed obvious to me but I suppose there were quite a few people who didn't think so, including the announcers. They kept saying something about reeling in a fish. They even got so close by saying that maybe it was a camera for the Emmy's or something. I was wondering if they were serious or if they were avoiding the whole spygate thing. I guess it wasn't as obvious as I thought.

Great celebration and it's ridiculous that it gets a 15 yard penalty.

don't worry about it.....they act like they know...but they really don't, thats why they were scared to say what it was and look stupid, saying dumb ish like "wow are you serious?"

they don't know either...there just guessing, only TO knows

He got a penalty because they said he was using the goalpost as a prop which is no longer allowed.

I heard the "goalpost as prop" thing on a coupla networks. But, since the goalpost is an immobile fixture at all NFL stadiums - doesn't that make it a part of the "scenery" rather than a prop?

Either way - I thought TO's endzone celebration was a pretty funny jab at Belicheat and the Pats.

I immediately assumed he was making fun of the Pats situation, but the announcers mentioned fishing. I thought it was pretty obvious what he was doing in light of current events, but evidently not.

For a second, after T.O. scored, I thought he was going to go to where the Cowboy fans were that had put up the Cowboy banner before Jason Taylor told them not to put it up.

I thought Owens was going to go over there and put it back up. I thought that would have been sweet.

Not to burst anyone's bubble on the originality of the celebration, but the idea was given to him on Friday afternoon by Dan LeBatard, who co-hosts his radio show on 790 The Ticket here in Miami each week. LeBatard had the listeners surveyed during the week as to a good celebration he could do if he scored as a sort of message to the listeners of 790.

The one you saw is the one he liked the most, and if he would have scored a second time, he was going for a Pavarotti-like bellowing with his arms outstretched, and there were purportedly 790 listeners in both end zones that were ready to throw roses at him if he did that one (at the risk of being ejected from the stadium).

Everyone here thought it was funny.

Everyone here thought he was making fun of Spygate.

I thought he was reeling in a fish too at first. Looking at the replay, it looks like he's doing the old time movie camera.
