The guy will never be happy Hos. That's not in his nature. And it has nothing to do with football. He is a "worry-wart." And knowing many people like that in my life-- he won't change.

That trait is set in stone.

Our need is at ILB not OLB. Suggs will probably be franchised by the Ravens so it is a moot point.

It won't take 7-8 million for our draft picks, that's not how the thing works with the rookie pool.

Regardless, we need to probably sign a CB like Florence in FA and the draft should be CB-RB-WR-DE/OLB.

With 16 million under the cap, we have plenty to resign Barber and Canty and to sign Hamlin and Adams to new contracts plus tender the ERFA and possibly offer contracts to the likes of Keith Davis and Tyson Thompson and Nate Jones. And we will sign a couple of FA like Florence.

It won't surprise me to see Dallas sign Shawn Rodgers to an incentive contract once Detroit releases him. He could split time with Tank Johnson and move Ratliff to DE since it appears that Marcus Spears may very well be elsewhere next year.

Depending on what happens with Terry Glenn (and I expect him to retire after June 1st), I could see Jerry signing a WR in FA like possibly Bryant Johnson or maybe give Javon Walker an incentive contract once Denver releases him. Berriman is going to be franchised by Chicago or a deal done prior to March 3rd.

IMO, we will have Hamlin and Adams and Canty signed by the March 3rd date. Possibly Barber also although Jerry might want to see if anyone would bite on a 1st and 3rd tender that Barber will carry.

You can expect Canty to get a contract similar to Ratliff's.

Adams will be offered a contract that will really be just a 3 year deal but probably be a 5 year deal so the bonus can be spread out further with heavy salaries on year 4 and 5.

Hamlin will be interesting since I am sure Stephen Jones is going after a cap friendly contract, so expect a six year deal with about 12 million in bonus and 20 million guaranteed.

Newman will get the extension somewhere in the Romo range as well as Ware but they probably won't occur until around Nov of 2008.

Remember the cap rises in 2009 to 125 million or better and the owners have to right to opt out of the contract in 2009 making 2010 an uncapped year.

I don't think so.

Yes, we have $16 mil to play with but Canty and Barber will take four of that. The rookie pool, with two first rounders will probably take another 4.

That leaves $8 mil. Hamlin will probably cost about $3 mil in cap space.

$5 mil left and still having to resign Davis, potentially a vet WR to replace Glenn and a nickel back.

I don't see the money left for Adams.

Now... that could change based upon what we do with:

Ferguson
Akin Ayodele
Glenn
Carpenter
Spears

But we're not swimming in extra cap space at the moment-- not by a longshot.

Adams is done anyways. I'd rather have a rookie killing drives with false start penaltys with that over-rated stiff.

His play has steadily dropped off. A one trick pony that tries to run around tackles. Gets some personal stats but his teams mainly always lose, going back to college.

he is not a need or a fit here.
It's funny when you talk about running around offensive tackles. That's exactly what Ware and any other 3-4 OLB does. I don't remember the last time Ware put a Freeney like spin move on somebody or bullrushed a tackle into the ground. Go ask Levi Jones about Suggs' ability to stomp somebody into the ground (Jones actually ruined his knee on that play), from the DE position. Which is a lot harder to do. Ask Flozell Adams about Suggs' ability to put a wicked double move or spin move on a tackle that's gonna break his ankles. Also what linebacker is able to cover a guy like Roy Williams 1 on 1 and then make an interception? You really haven't seen him play.

Ware's constantly blitzing from the outside, that's the point of playing OLB in the 3-4. You always rush the passer. Suggs is playing DE mostly, and on passing downs exclusively. So it doesn't make much sense to say he's always running around anyone. Kind of hard thing to do when you're in the 3 point stance.

Look at what a 35yo Ellis was able to do in our defense. If he had started from game 1 he would have outshined Ware. Suggs is a more complete and proven football player than Ware is. Ware hasn't made the Pro Bowl as a 4-3 DE yet. He hasn't made the Pro Bowl as a 4-3 SLB yet. Suggs did all that and on top of that he won defensive rookie of the year when he played OLB in the 3-4 (same position Ware is playing). Out of those 2 i think Ware might be the one trick pony. ;)

Judging by your user name, I can tell your not the smartest one on the forums.

I just hope he's finally happy. If he is and is healthy for the full year it would be a huge help.

As long as his being here doesn't stop the progression of Spencer. In fact, I thought Dallas forgot too much about Spencer. Even Wade was saying he needs to see more playing-time, and that statement was made when Greg was having his career year in sacks, and Ware, as always, was playing lights out.

You have never seen Ware bull-rash a tackle into the ground or QB? Have you been watching Ware? Ellis was able to do what he was doing because he had Ware playing next to him....

Teams double-team Ware and game-plan around him, as they always ADMIT...
