Terrence Mitchell is showing well

I remember this time last year people were hoping for Webb to take Scandrick's job

Like whom? OScan was rated the best nickel corner in the game going into last year, teams had less than a 50% completion pct against him in 2012 while covering the slot which is outstanding.

People were high on Webb at draft time. And Broaddus at one point said he could take Scandrick's job, but he never showed anything very impressive with the team that I ever saw.

I was not a big fan of Webb after watching him at the Senior Bowl practices. JJ Wilcox was better than Webb in 1-on-1 coverage against the same WRs in those practice drills.

Yeah, I recall you saying that, too. I think Broaddus just isn't a fan of Scandrick's personality, honestly. I can't see looking at the two players and liking the rookie in any way, shape, or form. And that's if I remember Broaddus' take correctly.

I hope they both turn out great, because That Mitchell and Webb Look would be the best corner duo nickname of all time

I am not a fan of Scandrick because he got torched on the regular last season. Fromm giving up TDs against GB or being thoroughly thrashed versus Chicago, Scandrick was not very good for us. We desperately need our corners to step up their game.

I agree. I've never seen what the team saw in Webb. Watching those senior bowl drills, I was glad we drafted Wilcox, but not glad about Webb. I would be willing to bet Webb gets cut this year.

Scandrick was very good last year, he had a couple of bad games but overall he was damn good for us.

He was. Jeffries ate his lunch, but I honestly don't know how you cover that guy with those ridiculous long arms. It's not like Scandrick wasn't in good position most of the time. I guess you gotta chop the arms and try to knock the ball out, but he was catching everything away from his body and has hands like a vice. He's a really good player. I don't think any of our CBs can hold up to him.

A lot of teams had trouble covering Jeffries which is why he was a constant highlight on the NFL Network and Sportscenter, he's not the best corner but he's definitely top 10 imo and he actually played better after getting his money unlike a lot of players.

With Campo gone, we can get working on turning one's head to the ball while in coverage. The Newman/OScan curse:D It would be great to find a steal like Mitchell so the team can release Carr if he doesn't return to form. Have to give the team credit for not including him in the off season restructures to allow for this flexibility in 2015.

Don't give up on Carr so quickly. He had one bad year here after we switched to a scheme where he couldn't play to his strengths (Man to man). He was a very solid CB before he came here and had one good season with us his first year and then they stupidly switched schemes. The whole team was majorly impacted by that.

Oh I didn't mean that as a way to belittle Carr though he had an off year (understandable). I like what Carr brings to the table and can be a top 15 corner with a decent front 7. I was speaking more to the team's addiction to restructure big contracts to create room for the cap. They set it up so he will have to play as a top 15-20 corner to remain on the team. If he regains his status as a top 2nd tier corner he should be included in future restructures if need be. Rewarding his play by including him in the restructures would have set the team back (probably not, but you know where I'm going :D) and sets it up so he must regain his form to stay on the team in 2015.
