He will definitely be given a chance to play. He was very good and has a cheap cap cost. Why not? I wonder how much his knee has caused him not to be able to train properly. Does anyone know how hard he's been training?

I honestly think that he'll be released or he'll retire...but probably not before camp or the season as I feel Jerry Jones really wants to give him a shot to come back. And I think he really wants to come back. I just have this feeling that his knees won't allow it...and a couple of games into the year he'll finally figure that out.

...we need to find out a couple of things first before his status is decided.

First, how's his health in relation to the off season program.

Second, what is going to happen with the draft and potential free agents.

These are important questions to answer in regards to having another vet WR.

I don't think the progression of Stanback, Hurd and Crayton will deter the team from looking at another WR to pair with T.O.

There's been no talk from VR that says Crayton is considered a clear cut #2. Hurd and Stanback are clearly not in that category.

Terry's situation needs to be addressed in relation to those two questions before there's any talk of him getting to training camp.

I voted he won't play, but even if he does i know one thing, there is no way we should be depending on him. Gotta try and make that vet trade happen.

I think he will try and go through training camp but would not be suprised to see him retire before camp is over.

Agreed on both.

Depends. Do we acquire a veteran WR like Williams? If we do, then I believe we'll cut Glenn.

If we don't, I believe Jerry will give Glenn every opportunity to come back.
i agree, it all comes down to if we get a vet wr or not.

I think he is going to be given every chance to make the team and prove he can still play in mini camps and training camp.

If we pull a draft day trade for a vet, his chances of being given that training camp to compete are slim.

he is a total mystery right now. The look on his face after that loss last year said he thought his time was up, but I bet he will fight as hard as he can to get on the field in the summer and see what is left.

i would love to see him be a part of this team this year.

Well it's clear we need another WR opposite TO. The dropoff in offensive production culminating in the Giants game testifies adequately for that. But a rookie WR is unlikely to contribute that much. It happens but history is not on our side. If TG can come in and play that is a perfect scenario for us.

Then there is Stanback. I'm looking for something from him but it is unreasonable to expect him to be our savior either. I think he'll contribute but I don't see him being the total answer.

The answer is a veteran WR who can take the heat off TO. If TG can contribute as well then you have three outstanding WRs which makes us a very dangerous team.

Get'er dun Jerrah.

I heard from my brother's, uncle's, sister's, son's, cousin that we were going to package Terry Glenn, Bobby Carpenter, Rowy Williams and Spears together to trade for Arizona's number 1 pick along with Fitzgerald...

In reallity its time to say goodbye to Terry...IMO, its a VERY bad move to be expecting him to even be able to practice all of next year.

I don't see them depending on him. Hoping is what I'd say they're doing. I don't see Crayton doing a lot more. If he does then hurray. Stanback is not being depended on either. That's why we are looking for a veteran WR. And hoping on that as well. I wouldn't depend on a rookie WR either, BTW.

I think Terry's status for 2008 is equal parts uncertain knee rehab and what other options Dallas uncovers the remainder of the offseason.

I think Jerry's objective for WR roster spots is as follows.
  1. TO
  2. new Vet
  3. draft pick
  4. Crayton
  5. Stanback (assuming he still shows enough future promise)
If Jerry achieves that objective, then I think Terry will be released almost regardless of his rehab status.

If by some miracle his rehab leaves him steady as a rock for this year, then perhaps we'll steal a roster spot elsewhere to make room for Terry for another year in spite of Jerry keeping the 5 above as well.

If Jerry falls short on any of 1-5 above, then the door starts to open for Terry should his rehab prove sufficient.

But I'm thinking its almost impossible for Terry Glenn to push any of 1-5 off the 2008 roster all by himself.

My prediction is that between the rehab uncertainty and Jerry's commitment to provide enough options, Glenn will not be with us in 2008.

But I would really like for Glenn to be a part of our Super Bowl next year. :)
