Now I want you all to look at the stats below. Look closely. What do you see? There is no wrong or right answer, but give me more than "a guy who has 10 TD's"

Opp. Rec. Yds. TD
SF. 4. 55. 0
TEN. 10. 103. 1
STL. 6. 89. 1
NO. 3. 44. 1
HOU 9. 85. 1
SEA. 4. 63. 0
NYG. 9. 151. 0
WAS. 3. 30. 1
ARZ. 2. 15. 1
JAC. 6. 158. 2
NYG. 7. 86. 2
PHI. 4. 73. 0

Obviously a player who struggles against better defenses. But that isn't only on the player.

The QB and OLine have a harder time too, which will skew the "individual's" numbers.

Finally. Thank you.

My point is that this team will not benefit one bit by signing Dez long term. Not with Romo at QB.

Money needs to be spent elsewhere or we will see the same crap year after year. Beating the bad teams, but losing to the good teams.

Do you know how hard opposing teams are going to stack the box if we do release Bryant? Who in the hell is going to be a threat in the passing game outside of him? T wills? Witten? Come on, man! Give me a break! if you want to really break it down, he has a lot to do with the DeMarco's running success and Romos passing success, this year. Are his numbers where we anticipated? No! Dez does so much more just by being on the field. People on this forum are really quick to dismiss and let a player "walk ". I remember a few saying let Romo go and we'll find a replacement. What happened when Romo was out for a game and a half? Everybody went into panic mode and was praying for Romo to come back.

… Sometimes you have to pay players because production doesn't always show up on the stat sheet.

How is that your point? He is 2nd in TD catches this year...and of course somehow Romo is the limiting factor to signing him long term?!

Wow.

By this way of thinking, then Murray is a goner as well. The contract that is a killer are dead money! Romo looked better moving than he has all season, but his throws were amongst the worst on the flip side.

Sorry, but I'll take Dez & Murray over Romo

I believe he is referring to next year. In that case, the draft or free agency can fill the need for receivers.

I kinda agree with your premise and illustration
We're goina have a few huge money players
and a bunch of minimum guys
do those big chucks of gains [Dez] translate to wins ?

I'm sure we could have won 3 Super Bowls without Emmitt & Michael Irvin. Oh wait, never mind.

Ok get rid of Romo and who's tossing the ball to Dez? Weedon? Kind of a catch twenty two isn't it?

Or we could try this crazy concept of getting him the ball more?? Starts with the coach and the scheme. Bubble screens, reverses, short slants, line him in the slot more, ect ect....there's absolutely no creativity to the offense and it shows up when the run game isn't working well or we're down.
