GREAT NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have just been bumped to the top of many short list. :D

It's great to know my biggest rival is outta my way. LUV IT.:) :) :) :D

This move makes about as much sense as the Pats signing Junior Seau. Are the Pats now providing an old folks home for vets who should be retired?

Why would the Pats fill a roster spot that was occupied by a now injured o-lineman with a 43 year old QB? I smell a rat!

I don't care what the media has to say, there has to be something up with Brady to force the Pats to make this move. He has had some very subpar games lately, and is not playing like his normal self.

Is there a chance that Brady is injured (but not reported) and may not be able to play out the season?

He signed him because he knows BP will tarde a 2nd for Vinny next Spring.

So you guys feel good knowing we're one injury away from Bledsoe being back on the field? I sure as hell don't. I would take ole Testaverde as a backup over Bledsoe. That's not saying much, except how little I think of Bledsoe.

I'm happy for Vinny. He's never struck me as being anything other than a good guy/team player. As a backup it makes some sense, given that he'll provide useful sideline advice and has enough big-game experience to step in in a pinch. Like someone else mentioned, I'd actually prefer him to Bledsoe (as a backup), given that VT appears to be comfortable with the backup role and actually has some mobility.

My point was that the timing of this move makes no sense from the Pats perspective. Brady suddenly plays poorly, and now they sign a 43 year old QB as an insurance policy?

Remember, he is taking the roster spot of an injured o-lineman. Why not fill the void with more o-line insurance?

I stand firm that I smell a rat! There must be something wrong with Brady to force the Pats hand in paying a 43 year old QB.

Whew, not me. Not crazy about either, but I prefer Bledsoe.

apparently the Patriots felt that Brady wasn't throwing enough INTs and they needed to pad their INT stats

:laugh2:

Signing "Interceptaverde" is definitely the way to do it. Hey, I hear that QC is doing good in rehab. He can certainly take the place of a punter.

Cool. I must be psychic. I predicted your post before you posted it.

Always felt Vinny got a raw deal from the fans because they wanted to see Drew "Golden Boy" Henson out on the field. If father time hadn't caught up to Testaverde, he would have been a better QB than Bledsoe. A lot of those interceptions were head scratchers. That Cleveland game for example, we were already well in the lead, I think he just took the liberty of assuming he had the same age and arm as he did that All Pro year with the Jets under the Tuna. He just didn't realize the limitations of his arm and age. But I always thought he was a smarter QB than Bledsoe, cooler under pressure, more versatile, spread the ball out better (especially to tight ends and backs), and I wish we could have had him at the same age he was when he signed with the Jets.

I agree with most all of your points, but I have always questioned Vinnie's intelligence. I think Bledsoe has physical limitations, but is smarter than Vinnie...which isn't really saying much.

He's been on the probable list or the questionable for two weeks, I heard. An arm strain or sprain?

Thing is with Mumbles is he plays so fast and loose with the injury list no one knows who is really injured, who exaggerated, whose injury is mimimized, and who was just put there to play head games. When Polian responded a few weeks back by listing 32 Colts as injured, the nonsense seemed to have reached its peak. But Brady has been banged up.

My guess is some of his recent play can be attributed to it, and no one wants to rely on Matt Cassell, who Pete Carroll sold Mumbles as the next Tom Brady.

The next Marcia Brady is more what he's looked like.

If Tom has a sprain that must heal thru a weeks's rest down the line, the Pats are better off with VT.
