Granted John wrote this mid season but he is right about 1 thing is would be a Texans fans worst nightmare
LOL

Read it and weep, Texans fans: Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys are coming to Houston for Super Bowl LI.

And they won't have to buy tickets to get into NRG Stadium.

The Cowboys (7-1) are the best team in the NFC and the favorite to represent their conference against the team that will win its fifth Super Bowl - the New England Patriots (7-1).

The first weekend in February is going to be a double whammy for Texans fans.

Not only will it draw out all those Cowboys fans in Houston who will spend the week being as obnoxious as only they can, but Jones is going to be voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame the day before the game.

Dateline Houston - the Cowboys in the Super Bowl, and Jones immortalized in Canton one day apart.

So, there you have it. At the midway point of the season you know Tom Brady and Bill Belichick are going to defeat the Cowboys and win their fifth Super Bowl ring together, including their second at NRG Stadium.

I'm from the Midwest. I've always had zero perspective on Cowboys/Oilers, Cowboys/Texans banter.

I guess I am glad -- I have enough hatred of the NFC East that I don't have any room left to hate (or care about) the Texans. They could be playing in California and it wouldn't be any different from me.

I am on the only out-of-stater that feels this way?

Ah, I'm sure Houston will trade that karma sacrifice for getting Romo next year to lead them to their own SB:muttley:

Or better yet...they get to the SB with Romo next year and lose to a Dallas team repeating this year's title.:oldcouple:

win-win!

I wonder if Texans fans know them and their franchise are irrelevant to us? Go worry about Jacksonville or something.

1. Texans losing to the Cowboys in their stadium in the Super Bowl.

2. Dallas winning a Super Bowl in their stadium against any AFC team.

3. Dallas playing in the Super Bowl in their stadium (although a Dallas loss would be a bit of a reprieve)

4. Dallas trading Tony Romo for Clowney and a first round draft pick.

No they don't what they do know is they share the Lone Star state with the most loved and hated team in pro football team. They know that the Cowboys have 5 SB to their 0 appearances in the SB. It is not just Texans fan but the once Oiler fans. It is not easy being the ugly sister in Texas. LOL

It's sad they have to root for another AFC team to beat Dallas. It shows their lack of confidence in their own team. Poor sad sack Houston NFL fans.

NH fan here, and I have zero feeling for the Texans either way.

I remind the guys at my fire station every tour that little brother's worst nightmare is coming true. They are dying inside as this wonderful season marches on. Nobody even bothers to trash talk me any more. Ive taken so much crap over the last 10 years and I havent forgotten anything. I will make them miserable. It absolutely should be thier ultimate worst case scenario, they've earned it.

I live in Houston and they have some weird little brother complex when it comes to the Cowboys and Dallas in general. I mean they go on about the Cowboys and how they can't stand them about as much as they talk about the Texans.

There's really no logic to it really.

True but it dates back well before the Texans. It was that way when the Oilers where here in Houston. When me and my family moved to Houston in 1969 we pulled for the Oilers as our AFC team that was until we meant up with Oiler fans and their deep hatred of the Cowboys. After that I took great joy and still do with Houston losing and how they lose. The Fact the Cowboys stole the spot light and found glory Houston has found nothing but humiliation and failure. It kills them being as I said the ugly sister. Dallas became American team and Houston was that other team in Texas. Also add to it football in Texas is a religion not just a game. lol

Worst case scenario would be KC vs DAL. This would also be a giant tweak to the Iggles as well.
In essence The Dallas Texans vs The Dallas Cowboys.
