Texans vs. Lions

I understand the refs had no choice but to not review it but that is not only a bad call, I saw he was clearly down before the replay, but it is just a dumb rule

will not be surprised if it gets changed in the off season

He can be anything, but i would love him to be our NT.

PD: such robbery, 7 points gifted to Texans.

It sounds like Schwartz spontaneously combusted and screwed his team. Had he not thrown that flag, the play would have been autonatically reviwed.. lol.. so crazy.

Jim Schwartz screwed his team over, he should've known all scoring plays get reviewed but got over emotional and threw the flag.

If that happened to us, I might go down there to Tonya Harding the refs or most likely JG for doing it.

If that's a rule, who ever made has the iq of a ******** squirrel

Agree. Idiotic rule.

Why wasn't it reviewable?

Becasue this is the new rule this year in the NFL:

1. All scoring plays are automatically reviewed no matter what.
2. If you throw a challege flag disputing a score, you get a 15 yard penalty since the refs will review it anyway. Since you threw a challenge flag, the rule states that the review is nullified and you get a 15 yard penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct.
3. It's a dumb rule and you get sure that the competition committe will get rid of this rule next year.

Why so we can get more penalties and unsportsmanlike plays? Suh as a cowboy would be a disaster.

Jim Schwartz is an idiot

This is very true, but these officials are knuckleheads.

The league will blow this off as if its nothing. There is ZERO accountability for this horrific stuff.

Schwartz should have known #1. No excuse. I agree with #3. #2 will be a goner in the offseason. Dumbest rule ever.

No whistle.

Stupid rule that the TD couldn't be reviewed because they threw the flag, though.
That's gotta be priority number one this offseason -- to change that rule. One of the dumbest rules I've ever seen. What idiot came up with that and thought it was a good idea?

After this bonehead scenario they should!

Even so, that's a dumb rule that a challenge flag nullifies it. I can understand the flag though.

That should have been a blown whistle to begin with. Horrible.

The way the rule is worded, a smart coach could negate a review that would hurt his team by throwing his challenge flag.

IF Garret threw the challenge flag on the Bryant TD/incompletion, in theory, the play would have become non-reviewable. Dallas wins.

Who cares about the 15 yards at that point.

The flag/non-review happened to Smith in Atlanta last week so it should have been on most people's minds.

Brilliant. That's an excellent point!

By the way, Detroit is playing pissed off now.
