The texans worked out Justin Gatlin recently as a reciever. You guys think we should give him a shot? or that he can be successfull?

I personally, as a highschool track athlete, was a huge fan of Gatlin . When i found out he used steroids i was pretty dissapointed. I think everyone deserves a 2nd chance, no harm done if we work him out.
(sorry if someone already posted this)

Fastest man in the world or something, right?

No harm in seeing if he can run patterns and catch some passes.

They said he hadn't played football since 10th grade....talk about a learning curve...

Despite what the article says, I'm pretty sure he at least technically was on the football team at Tennessee. I could swear I remember seeing him on that Clemson student's "Fastest Man in Football" website back before I'd even heard of him.

That's not to say he can play. If he could, I think we'd have seen him playing for the Vols.

Edit -- Check that, I must have been thinking of Leonard Scott. (Oh, and who is right behind him in the 100m)

No way...bad press for any team that signs a guy who's serving an 8 year suspension from another sport for cheating with Steroids...I don't care if he's the reincarnation of Jerry Rice, don't want him...don't want the reputation that goes with signing a proven cheater who's serving a suspension.

Just get a guy like that and teach him the fly and the curl routes and he could make a decent 4th receiver

Does the name Renaldo Neiamiah (sp?) ring a bell? He was a track star that SF tried to turn in to a wr in the 80's. All it took was him getting laid out once and he was done.

What's it going to be then, eh?

We don't have a role for a fast player who cannot play football.

Let the Texans attempt to turn him into Bob Hayes.

We have a playoff run to conduct.

Why would the Boys want a convicted cheater on their team.....they dont need the bad press that will follow this most obvious publicity stunt

p.s. I hear Mark McGuire played football in high school as well why not give him a shot

Yeah, we've been there and done that twice.

Once with Bob Hayes...

Another time with Carl Lewis....

Anyone remember drafting him?
