Texas A&M DE Shemar Stewart is a freak athlete

Would have liked for him to do the bench test. It's nice that he's an athletic freak, but how strong is he is very important for an Edge/DE player.

6 sacks in 3 years. On thing that probably made a big difference in is testing is he's is down 25 lbs from his weight at ATM.

Given how athletic he and Scourton are and their lack of production, I question ATM's defensive staff. No way guys that big and athletic should produce so little.
Texas A&M liked their DL to control the gaps. In 2023 at Purdue Scourton had 10 sacks.

Thanks, didn’t watch their games very much.

:hammer:Turned a freak edge rusher into a 5 Tech...sucking up blocks. That's dumb. No wonder a bunch of kids bailed to Ole Miss.

Stewart needs a bit of work on his hand fighting and knowing what counters to use and when to use them. Relies too much on his athletic ability since it came easy for him. But his play against the run is elite and probably is the best run defender of any DL in the draft. He just blows everything up and when he figures out how to win with his hands, he can be pretty special.

hope he does bench press and 3 cone at pro day, those are very good metrics for DE but he has failed the biggest metric of all- college production.

Stewart has very little pass rush skills, his coaches at A&M are pathetic,if you are that Athletic you will stumble into a bunch of sacks but he only had 4.5 in 3 years.

My early money is on Stewart at 12. I dont know if he will rise quite into the top 10 with his production. No one expected to go top 10 has really fallen yet, and Pearce likely vaulted into the top 10

Im Eberflus defense, Stewart can play both outside and inside. He gives alot of package possibilities with the different personel you can put on the field with him. He can be a B gap rusher inside. Outside he can play anywhere from a 5 to 9 with his athleticism
