Hodge was seen on draft day saying he wouldn't draft Vince Young until the second day of the draft.

Sometimes I think Hodge is still suffering from those concussions the way he is blinded by his initial opinions.

Look anyone watching Vince Young on tape and getting a sure-fire opinion of him is a fool.

I have see him play once in Lubbock and let me tell the so-called experts something.

The film does not show you how big and how fast he eats up yardage with those long strides...This guy is the new and improved version of what Vick was suppose to be. And he is twice the leader that Vick is. Ultra-competitive.

Vince does not care how pretty it looks as long as he wins the game.

He hates to lose and everyone in Tennessee is seeing that up close.

That is the kind of stuff the film will not show. When you see a fast defensive team like the Colts whiffing on him...you can't teach that.

Hodge was right about one thing...you either have it or you don't. And VY has it!

hey thanks for posting that. I hang out in Austin a lot and they play every Titans game. When he won that game last week running for a TD all I could think of was "he'll never be able to do that in the NFL".

if the "girls" in your neighborhood flick the ball 50-60 yards off their heels - you live in Olympic Village, Czech Republic and barber the gal shotput champ.

vince young reminds me of football's answer to hakeem olajuwon. amazing overall athleticism and killer instincts from a big guy that can run all day long. after stepping up to the big leagues - STILL "a man among boys".

some of his detractors are starting to sound bitter and grasping at their inability to see VY coming.

yeah, i still think bush is overrated, he is not "phenomenal" he is decent to ok. he will be at the same level as brian westbrook, not "gale sayers/barry sanders type" its so ridiculous how everyone is basically putting him in the hall of fame after two good games!! like i said, VY will be more succesfull IMO and bush will just be brian westbrook 2.0 (which if you understand what im saying is, bush is overrated because he is made out to be gale sayers, if they said he is a good back, id agree)

Those comments by Hoge were from the pre-season. It isn't as if he said all of that last week. I agree with everything he said. He recognized Young's weaknesses as most people have done. They do exisit. I also think he underestimated Young's strengths. Strengths such as the desire to improve and succeed. Those can take a young player a long way. He still has a long way to go to become a great player, but he may be able to do it.

I don't agree with anyone who just writes him off based on what they see at this moment. He already has proven many people wrong up to this point. Each year he raises the bar on his critics. There have been many things that people said that Vince Young could not do.

He won't be able to QB a big college program such as Texas.
He won't be able to pass that well in college.
He won't be drafted as a QB in the NFL.
He won't be able to win a conference title.
He will never win a national title.
He won't be a top ten draft pick.
He will never adjust to the pro game.
He will never win games in the NFL.

He just keeps proveing people wrong. The young man has a will to get better and accomplish greatness. I don't know if he will ever be up there with the other great QB of the NFL, but based on what I have seen him do up to this point I won't bet against him improving from year to year.
