Actually I agree that is wasn't Casserly who alone made the decision of Williams over bush.JackMagist said:Casserly stayed on and took the bullet for them for drafting Williams knowing that he was not going to pursue another GM job. I don't think it was his decision at all; that was McNair and/or Kubiak. Now if Williams is a bust they have a built in scapegoat and if he is a Pro Bowl caliber player and Bush is a bust the organization can say it was all their doing since they knew Casserly was leaving.
Kubiak coming from Shannahan's Broncos does not put much stock in drafting rb's high in the draft. If you look at the list of Denver rb's you will see that they were not taken in the first round. I think Clinton Portis and Tatum Bell were the highest draft picks of those rb's and they were taken in the early 2nd round.
So no, I do not put the moronic decision of passing on Bush on Casserly alone, but he has been the GM of this team from the very beginning and they started out as an expansion team and where are they 4 yrs later? Still at the very bottom. Not second to last, but last place period.
Casserly is leaving and now going to the NFL front office???
I wouldn't hire this guy if my life depended on it.
