Big day for the Horns.

#3 WV gets beat by #5 Louisville.

So we have...

1) Ohio St
2) Michigan

Who do you think is #3? Texas or Louisville.

Then you have the game between Michigan and Ohio St. Would the loser remain at #2 or would they slip and the #3 would get the title shot?

Pretty exciting to be honest it's anyones game.

I currently attend UT and I am a life long Texas fan, but were are gonna need a lot of help to get into the BCS championship game. We are #7 in the BCS poll before the WVU/Louisville game so that probably puts us at #6. I think that the computers hate the Big 12 so much that the loser of the OSU/Mich game won't drop below us.

As much as I hate it, I think Louisville will be #3 in the bcs rankings. If Louisville goes undefeated, I think they will play for the national championship. I don't think they should, but thats what it's looking like.

Louisville should be #3. Not for sure on who wins vs OSU vs Mich, matters if its close or a blow out.

Even though I go to UT, if the OSU-Mich game is really close, I want to see them again in the national championship. Here's hoping Louisville loses next week to Rutgers.

I don't understand how Auburn is ahead of us considering they lost to an unranked Ark team

No way Texas should be below #4. I can understand Lou being 3rd.

That's crap and you know it. UT is getting little respect from the computers because the Big 12 is weak sauce this year. The loser of the OSU/Michigan game will be out of the running for the title game, period.

That said, Louisville should be #3 over Texas, assuming Florida gets no respect this week.. I don't care if they play in the Big Least, they haven't lost a game yet. And the way Illinois played OSU this week, you never know - a L'ville-OSU title game could actually be pretty good. High scoring, at least.

Man, college football really, really needs some form of a playoff system.

Rankings aren't indicative of talent. If Louisville somehow sneaks their way into the NC game and faces one of the big boys like OSU or Michigan, they're going to get taken to the woodshed and lose by 20+ points.

It amazes me that we have this conversation about the BCS being an absolute joke every single year and yet nothing ever comes close to being done about it.

"We'll give you the Harris poll! How's that fans??"

Ever since I was like 12 I have had this dream in my head of a 12 team college playoff. This is how that would look just according to the coaches' poll. It could completely be done through the bowl system, too.

5-12 Louisville vs. Arkansas
6-11 Auburn vs. Cal
7-10 Florida vs. Notre Dame
8-9 Tennessee vs. USC

1-4 get a bye the first week, reseed, play three more weeks and it's done. This year it'd start on Dec. 16 and end Jan. 6, with all games on Saturdays. Incidentally, bowl games this year start Dec. 19thh and end Jan. 8, so this absurd posturing of the college presidents is pure reactionary stupidity.

I mean, really, who wouldn't look forward to two straight Saturdays with 8 of the top 12 teams in the country playing each other? Scratch that ridiculous 12th game and get the ****ing thing done, NCAA.

our strength of schedule sucks in the computer polls. the only decent teams we've beaten are Oklahoma and Nebraska. We barely beat Nebraska, and they're not even ranked this week. It really hurt us that OU "lost" to Oregon. I wish OU still had Bomar so our SOS would be higher.

If Texas can get 4th I have a feeling Lou will choke.

Lou Schedule:
11/09 at #15 Rutgers 7:30 PM
11/18 S Florida TBD
11/25 at Pittsburgh TBD
12/02 UConn TBD

The loser of Mich / OSU will drop out and Texas would get the nod. Let's hope UT spanks the crap out of their remaining opponents.

We have a playoff system. If you want to be in the NC game, here's a hint. DON'T LOSE. Its that simple. The only team that has ever had a legitimate beef in the history of the BCS is Auburn. That's it. No way should a one loss team get in over an undefeated BCS school. Heck even Rutgers deserves to be in the game if they go undefeated.

I don't know if anybody told you this before, but that isn't a playoff system.

So I guess Boise St, Rutgers, and Louisville are all better than Texas, Florida, USC, etc.

What does the word playoff mean? It means a group of the best teams play each other for the title. College does not have a playoff.

Is Boise St in the ACC, Big East, SEC, PAC ten, BIG ten or Big 12? Correct me if I'm wrong. Rutgers and Louiville haven't lost Texas, Florida and USC have. Again if you want to play in the big game. Newsflash- Don't Lose.

So what if at the end of a season you have one undefeated team and the other teams each have one loss? Who gets in then?

You might as well flip a coin.

Every week is a playoff for BCS schools. Lose and go to the end of the line.
