So what if at the end of a season you have one undefeated team and the other teams each have one loss? Who gets in then?

You might as well flip a coin.

Its happened one year and guess what. It was a moot point Oklahoma won. If the Canes wanted to play them. Here it is again. Don't fricking lose.

Every week is a playoff for BCS schools. Lose and go to the end of the line.

Against varied talent but a playoff is against the best teams. If Lou played the top 3 teams they will get smoked.

Big day for the Horns.

#3 WV gets beat by #5 Louisville.

So we have...

1) Ohio St
2) Michigan

Who do you think is #3? Texas or Louisville.

Then you have the game between Michigan and Ohio St. Would the loser remain at #2 or would they slip and the #3 would get the title shot?

Pretty exciting to be honest it's anyones game.

If the Horns win out through the Big XII championship game, they're in the national championship title game again, period...

It'd be fun to see what Colt McCoy could do against Ohio State a second time around, now that he has more experience than just a tuneup blowout against an inferior opponent under his belt...

Watching the game tonight, I was struck with how much of his passing totals were yards after the catch... this is a tribute to the quality of his WRs, but also of his accuracy; he was letting his receivers catch the ball in stride, and they surely did make the most of that...

Is Boise St in the ACC, Big East, SEC, PAC ten, BIG ten or Big 12? Correct me if I'm wrong. Rutgers and Louiville haven't lost Texas, Florida and USC have. Again if you want to play in the big game. Newsflash- Don't Lose.

The Big East shouldn't even be a BCS conference. All of their decent football programs jumped to the ACC.

Opinion on the first point is nothing more than you dancing around the truth.

Tell me of a sport in which the title is decided by something other than a playoff bracket? That bracket consisting of the best teams getting a chance to play one another. There is only one College Football.

Unfortunately, our defense probably got even worse. tOSU will absolutely destroy our secondary again.

This is my feeling as well. Now that Colt has some experience and UT secondary is healthy I think they can win.

Why do you say that? We got Brown back and Ross playing the other side. Then you got the Griffin brothers up top.

I'm still not sold on Tarell Brown. I know he didn't play against tOSU, but I don't think he can succeed against Gonzalez or Ginn. The Griffin brothers are pretty good, but sometimes they do make mental errors on the field in coverage. Against a great QB like Troy Smith, we can't afford any of those mistakes.

That would be great, but the NC game is decided by the BCS rankings, not the coaches/harris poll.

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/BCSStandings

Right now Florida and Louisville are both ahead of Texas in the BCS poll, and if they win out I don't see why Texas would jump them. I think if Florida wins out and wins the SEC championship game they'll play the meeeechigan/tOSU winner in the NC game.

I think the only chance for Texas to get in the BCS championship game is for Louisville to lose (most likely to Rutgers or Pittsburgh), Florida to lose, and Ohio State to go unbeaten. It wouldn't hurt for Auburn to lose too because they're ranked ahead of Texas, but I think if Arkansas wins out Auburn won't play in the SEC championshio game, and a Texas win in the Big 12 championship may springboard them ahead of Auburn.

Well Terrell Brown didn't play in that game, it'd be interesting to see how he plays this time around. The problem with our secondary is health. Brown has a few broken toes in his foot, Mike and Marcus are both injured as well. 5 weeks of rest for them after the Big 12 champ. game would help A LOT. It'd sure up the injuries and we'd see a much better secondary than we saw the past few weeks.

I would love the horns to have another shot at Ohio State. They moved the ball well against them and were hurt by Greg Davis not trusting Colt and turnovers.

They left 10 points on the field, including the game turning first turnover at the goal line...if Texas punches that in, it could have been a 17-17 tie in the 4th quarter.

The Texas D would have over a month to heal up and get to full strength while Chizik would get to avenge himself since he said he let his D down by misjudging what Ohio State was going to do.

I am not saying Texas would win, but they would sure as hell put more points on the board and play alot better than they did during the second week of the season...just like Ohio State last year.

I find this season of college football to be strange in that there are no clear cut top teams...the top 5-7 are all on the same level. Last year's USC and Texas teams would have coasted again.

They had that problem a few years ago when oklahoma won the title over florida st.Oklahoma was undefeated, but florida st.,miami, and washington all had 1 loss.Florida st. went, but miami or washington were actually better.Miami was actually playing better than all of them,at the end of the year. That was butch davis last year there.Miami won it all the next year.

I don't think so.If louisville loses, and texas and florida both win out, florida will get the nod over texas,to play in the championship game.I'm a diehard longhorn fan,but florida plays in the toughest conference their is.That will give them the edge over texas.Plus florida is presently ahead of texas right now in the bcs poll.

If USC wins out they might junp Texas also, or if Cal does. USC still has Cal (top ten team) and Oregon (ranked team) on thier schedule. The system is damn flawed

I think two things should happen..

All conferences should have a conf championship game.

Create an 8 team playoff.

Big Ten
Pac Ten
Big 12
SEC
ACC
Big East
At Large team
At Large team

Sat before New years

1 vs 8 Cotton Bowl

2 vs 7 Holiday Bowl

3 vs 6 Alamo Bowl

4 vs 5 Organge Bowl

Sat of or after New years

Rose Bowl

Sugar Bowl

Monday Night week after NY

Fiesta Bowl

Rotate the big bowls and make all these bowls must watch TV

the longhorns are paper champs. michigan will win it all again

Yeah Paper champions ... Guess they didnt win the national championship game last year.

Texas has to hope for OSU to crush michigan and a couple other things. I really dont understand how Auburn and a couple of other teams are ahead of them in the BCS standings. Louisville is good but I believe Texas would beat them just like Texas would have beaten WVU. Both WVU and Louisville are good teams but they arent top dogs, especially WVU they've had the luxury of an extremely weak schedule...
