No offense to the horn fans but you need to listen to jimmy more often than not. You guys got the win over Nebraska but it was HANDIDLY easy for your team to do so.

Nebraska helped you in the W. You need to send them some love.

Watch the game again...I did.

How many SURE TD's were dropped? LoL Texas had nothing to do w/ those WR's being ButterfingersMballsaredroppin

OU is a trash college in a trash state. :)

TCU would whip them like redheaded step children.

Texas got some breaks. OU has had their share of breaks as well. Texas D does deserve credit for shutting Martinze down all day long I doubt many felt Texas could do that.

It's the glasses you're wearing.
my Longhorn glasses? The first football game I ever saw and knew to root for one team over the other was the Texas/Arkansas game in '69. I was 6 years old and all I really knew was I was from Texas and wanted them to win and knew my Dad and older brother were rooting for them to win, then they came back and won and the President of the US comes in to the locker room and says they're the best in the country. Been a Longhorn fan ever since, but I will call it the way it is.

Just rewatch the championship against USC (I have the DVD), even Dan Fouts laughs out loud at how we always recover our own fumbles. It's almost comical.

True but when you hustle good things happen. As Lou Holtz said this weekend you don't have to be talented to hustle and guys who hustle tend to be around the ball. So yes Texas does recover their fumbles and opposing teams fumbles but allot of that goes to guys not quitting on plays. Lucky is when you something happens every blue moon when you do it as often as Texas has it is hustle

I dont need to listen to Jimmy or anyone else. Maybe you didn't read my posts very well. Go back and do so, because I am not a mindless sheep. I can make my own conclusions about the events of the Texas/Nebraska game.

Also, as for the whipping the Sooners gave the Horns.....I never new 8 points was a whipping, but ok. Just be thankful that fumble by Jones went out of bounds, or the Horns most likely are going for 2 to tie a few moments later. Then Williams fumbled the punt, game over. It was a very good, highly contested game. Had the Horns won, I certainly wouldn't have been claiming a whipping of the Sooners, yet you crow and crow and crow, acting as if an 8 pt win is a 30 point trouncing.

Yes the Sooners beat the Horns, and props to them, but a whipping it was not.

I'd have to say nobody in the history of football is luckier on fumbles than our Longhorns have been the last 5 years or so. It's almost comical.

i disagree...just look at the bounces OU always seems to get against us. They fumble and it goes back to them for a TD or out of bounds. We fumble and it goes to them. I am just talking UT/OU.

Now on the whole, yes we have been very fortunate with fumbles....but Nebraska has fumbled like 22 times this season and only lost 8. That is a ridiculous amount of fumbles so far on the year, and even more so to recover so many of your own is pretty darned fortunate.

I decided to look at the fumble recovers for both OU and Texas this year from ESPN stats. Lets see what I've found.

OU has recovered 7 opponent fumbles this year while Texas has recovered only 4.

OU has lost only 2 fumbles thus far while Texas has lost 7.

Game by game breakdown: (R = recoverd opponents fumble, L = Lost fumble)
Code:
W1: OU: L 0 R 1, TX: L 1 R 1
W2: OU: L 1 R 1, TX: L 0 R 0
W3: OU: L 0 R 1, TX: L 1 R 1
W4: OU: L 0 R 3, TX: L 4 R 2
W5: OU: L 0 R 1, TX: L 1 R 0
W7: OU: L 1 R 0, TX: L 0 R 1

It appears to me as though OU has been getting the better bounce lately. ;)

Love to see the Oklahoma hate alive and well. :laugh2:

Please don't try and spin the Texas is back speech. Im not buying it. I want them to win out but I still don't see the Longhorns doing so.

Nebraska was terrible catching the ball. That is on them but Texas was letting WR's run wide open all game long.

The tape don't lie.

Who is spinning Texas? They suck just like OU. TCU is where it's at. :)

TCU needs to play somebody. Why do you think they aren't #1 in the polls? They don't play anybody.

The only ranked team OU has played is Florida State. Texas was at one time, but we've figured out they suck and had no business being ranked.

TCU played Oregon State who was ranked too. They still have to play Utah who is ranked 9th.

I don't see anyone left for OU to play. They have ZERO business being ranked #1 right now. They in no way deserve to be ranked above TCU or Boise State. They haven't earned it.

It's the BCS favoritism in full swing. Boise State and TCU would ***** slap OU.

OU = Girly School

EDIT: Just looking OU has nothing left to play really. LSU, Oregon, and Auburn can easily leapfrog OU in the standings due to the teams they have left to play. Hell, even TCU could with the BCS bias.

OU's got nothing. Maybe next year. :)

Whoops, I saw Missouri, but missed OSU.

It's going to still be tough for them to hold off everyone else. Especially if LSU wins out.

Maybe so but then LSU is not looking like team that is going to run the table with games vs Auburn and Alabama. The winner of the SEC should one go undefeated could put themselfs in the NC game.

I think it's a crying shame (and a sham) that TCU and Boise State isn't even given a chance to prove themselves.

I agree with you. I think both programs over the last few years have proven they are worthy of consideration and I for one would love nothing better than to see a Boise or TCU be one of the last unbeatens in college football and have a shot at a National Championship
