USC-Notre Dame? Only one I can think of.Second best.
There's only one involving two top five programs of all time, and it's not Texas-OU.

Yea, they always have had alot of players from Texas....back in the Darrell Royal days there were some great games between this rivalry.Just looked at their roster, lol. 40ish players from Texas....
I know. I was being facetious because I think he was trying to say OSU-Michigan is the matchup of top 5 programs..
SC isn't top 5 in terms of winning. To be honest, I don't really put much into the whole "Top 5 Winninest Program" stuff. I mean, if you are going to do it that way, then you should really do it by Winning Percentage, not total wins. Any Eastern School is going to have the advantage in total wins because they are older and have always had larger population pools to draw from.
As example, Michigan's first season was in 1879, OU wasn't even established until 1895, as a university. It's just not a fair way to compare programs IMO.

My social media has blown up with UT stuff today, "UT is back!!!"
I mean, maybe I'm just a pragmatist, but it looks like a) the defense is most certainly not back, and b) OU doesnt exactly play defense either. Isnt OU the same team that went to OT with Army a week or two ago?
Also, maybe it's just me that finds this amusing, but Army held them to less points than these big programs. Time to steal Army's game plan!
I actually like Herman quite a bit, but he got too cute too early and what he was asking these top recruits to do on defense was crazy. You have to ease them into a new program a bit. Mainly talking about schemes here, but he also had a good DE recruit come in last year who weighed like 235-240 dripping wet, he was a starter this year at 5tech at 290, he couldn't do anything. I guess Herman's reasoning was get him the weight early, and over the course of the season he drops off the bad weight, gets him prepared for junior year. Except he looked terrible, and he was a starter, dont know if that guy is still starting.
They do have probably the best safeties in the nation, one of the better secondaries overall as far as talent.
Texas Tech game will be fun
I’d compare him more to the Art Briles magic which he might have learned at Houston.Tom Herman is the answer for Texas, I always knew he was the guy but today proved it. He's got some of that Mack Brown Magic
I really like Herman...solid coach.I’d compare him more to the Art Briles magic which he might have learned at Houston.
Yep . And it’s good for the conference to have two national powers contending.I really like Herman...solid coach.
Think both our schools...Ou/Riley...texas/herman...have a pair of good'ns...gonna be some fun games between the 2.
agreed.Yep . And it’s good for the conference to have two national powers contending.
I’m a big high school fan too. Of course both QB won state championships. Texas QB at Austin Westkake and OU at Allen.agreed.
I like your QB too.
tough kid.
he's special.I’m a big high school fan too. Of course both QB won state championships. Texas QB at Austin Westkake and OU at Allen.
Murray won 3 consecutive and is of course son of former A&M good QB Kevin Murray. Murray knocked my high school out of the playoffs twice I witnessed one of them. He’s an amazing talent.
I don’t think it’s NFL caliber arm . But his speed is unmatched at QB. Hes a playmaker and fun to watch.he's special.
I was blown away by his arm.
I told some buddies he is a better Jamelle Holieway....amazing runner who can make magic and a incredible arm.
Amazing touch on the ball and one helluva release.
