Thought that stat was incredulous at first given Texas' football pedigree, makes RG3's award tonight all the more special:

Davey O'Brien- TCU- 1938
Doak Walker- SMU- 1948
John David Crow- A&M - 1957
Earl Campbell- Texas- 1977
Andre Ware- Houston- 1989
Ricky Williams- Texas- 1998
Robert Griffin III- Baylor- 2011

that is crazy, but not surprising considering how much love schools like USC, Notre Dame and the like get from the media. just think, alabama has the most national titles but just recently got their first heisman winner!

He'll probably win, but I'm wondering if the 20% of ballots turned in pior to his game against Texas will come back to hurt him. If 15% of those number one votes go to Luck it would put him almost dead even with Griffin.

When is the show and what channel? I can't find it.

LOL RG3's socks had a cape!! :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

He definately was the most deserving. I'm happy for him. I hope he doesn't go to Redsk*ns so that I can root for him in the pros. He's a great stand up guy.

congratulations to rg3..

imo he is a phenomenal talent.

anyone see andrew luck start to stand up as he knew it was his?

Most ballsy part of the post Heisman ceremony interviews was this exchange, seems to signal RG3 might be returning to Baylor:
Mel Kiper: "Can Baylor ... win a BCS National Championship?"

RGIII: "It could happen as early as next year".

Third is the word.

might be in his best interest to come out now with a heisman under his belt.

never know when a torn acl or broken collarbone is around the corner.

i think with his upbringing he will return for his senior season.

Griffin's stock literally can't be any higher, he'd be foolish to risk injury by coming back next year IMO

i agree.

i hope he stays, he can get insurance, might be the number 1 pick next year, and its not like he is risking 60 million guaranteed like it used to be. The big 12 is still, and with the additions, will continue to be the SECOND best conference in college football!!

ps, bomani jones put it best

"everyone stand up, then bow down to the great state of Texas!"

this is also going to do wonders for their recruiting! i wouldnt be surprised if they get a top 10 or 15 class in 2013 if he comes back and has a great year again. Also, he would be the clear favorite to win it again next year! who is coming back that would get as much preseason hype?

And he was foolish for coming back. Kudos to him for loving the college life, but my point still stands. Just because he didnt get hurt doesnt invalidate the reasoning.

Also, big difference between Palo Alto and Waco.
