Texas Schools Have Only Won 7 Heismans

And he was foolish for coming back. Kudos to him for loving the college life, but my point still stands. Just because he didnt get hurt doesnt invalidate the reasoning.

Also, big difference between Palo Alto and Waco.
No offense but not a single thing you've ever said about RG3 or Baylor has come to fruition all season.

If RG3 comes back he'll probably be the top pick in the 2013 draft, his stock can get higher.

And you're gonna hate this, somewhat to my delight, but Mel Kiper asked him tonight if Baylor could win a national championship and RG3's response was "As soon as next year possibly".

Guy has goals, possibly ambitious ones, and that may mean staying.

this is also going to do wonders for their recruiting! i wouldnt be surprised if they get a top 10 or 15 class in 2013 if he comes back and has a great year again. Also, he would be the clear favorite to win it again next year! who is coming back that would get as much preseason hype?
Briles has quietly become one of the keenest groomers of quarterbacks in the nation, he has found Kevin Kolb, RG3 and Case Keenum back to back to back. I wouldn't be surprised if A&M gets an ugly surprise and learns Sumlin's success was predicated on Briles recruits, and what they actually were attracted to hire was the ghost of Art Briles propelling Sumlin, not Sumlin.

Baylor with RG3 is a top 10 team going into next year, Baylor without him is still a top 25 team, we'll see what they do to replace him, but it won't be a scrub.

They also get Lache Seastrunk at runningback next year, a former five star recruit that transferred from Oregon, if RG3 stays that will be a pretty sick pair.

Well, at least you can be comforted that the record books show no winner from 2005 :laugh2:
oh, there was a winner and it's plenty comforting.

I'm not worried too much, 20 of Houston's 24 starters this season were recruited by Sumlin.

Why? The situations are not the same. Luck came back for his redshirt junior season. Griffin would be coming back for his redshirt senior season. Luck could surprise everyone and come back for his redshirt senior season, but that won't be happening.

Griffin has his degree and is even close to his masters. He has more reasons to go pro than to stay in school.

Dawgs07126712 on here knows RG3 personally and said he was going pro. He'd be crazy not to.

Most ballsy part of the post Heisman ceremony interviews was this exchange, seems to signal RG3 might be returning to Baylor:
Mel Kiper: "Can Baylor ... win a BCS National Championship?"

RGIII: "It could happen as early as next year".

Third is the word.

They best get some defensive help. If they can improve there the sky is the limit for Baylor if RG3 returns.

Phil Bennett is a pretty good coordinator, they improved every week in their five game streak, but yes defensive recruitment is a definite priority.

Ty Detmer, Tim Brown and Billy Sims were all Heisman winners from Texas who played college ball outside of Texas.

While it's true RG III's stock could get higher if he stays a year, there isn't room for it to go up much from where it is now, however an injury could cause it to drop dramatically. Financially he has a lot more to lose than to gain by coming back another year.
