Elam can cover. Both are good players. I just think Elam is the most natural safety and would be the most ready from day 1.

OMG..........the love for Elam from you is almost illegal. Elam looks like a decent safety, but by no means is a game changer. That title goes to Vacarro, and Cyprien.......possibly Thomas.

Rambo anywhere after round 1 and I'd contemplate changing my (I'm no longer outwardly displaying my cowboy love) outlook for 2013. He's that good.
Elam is not a great coverage Safety. He spends a lot of his time in the box. When he is in coverage he is solid-good. He is a very aggressive tackler, but he has bad technique and tries to land a big blow rather than wrap up.He stands around a lot which is surprising. He doesn't give great effort all the time, it's really hot or cold. Sometimes he'll come up and land a huge hit, other times he just waits for the receiver to make the catch before coming up to make a play. I watch a ton of SEC games. I've seen probably every game he's played. This is my observation of him.

Rambo on the other hand, YES PLEASE! Very good in coverage, out produced every safety in the draft. He is actually a ball hawk. 16 ints, 6 FF's 3 tds, 18.3 yards per int return. I'm convinced he will be a multiple Pro-Bowl safety in the league.
I have no problem with Phillip Thomas though. I like him quite a bit too. Either would be very good in our new defensive scheme.
