Cousins is really bad, but the defense stood up when the offense couldn't quite finish.

Division game. Anything can happen. Im happy with the defense today. If smith comes in next year with a functional ankle and the draft another lineman in the first or second, this defense can turn around in a hurry.

Lets hope for a miracle this year.

Cousins has been tentative with his throws for some reason. Maybe the pressure to perform.

Either way I said it in the game thread. I'm not giving this defense that much credit as much as I'm counting my blessing with how bad Kirk played.

I was surprised by his blatantly bad plays...i frankly expected better from him. he seems to get too tensed up when he's in a game against us. But I'll take it!?! LOL!!!

The Commanders receivers didn't get much separation in the red zone, but they were running open in the middle of the field. Cousins just missed them.

I heard someone say this on 105.3 The Fan this morning... Kirk Cousins is like the JR Smith of the NFL. He's really not that great of a player, doesn't have a ton of versatility, but when he's hot... he can be very good for short periods of time. We saw that for about 2 or 3 consecutive drives in this game. Every other drive, he looked like a 3rd string QB. He was missing a bunch of those deeps balls and of course that pick in the end zone was just awful.

I agree. He threw for 360 yards and he missed several big throws. He could have easily thrown for 500 passing yards today. But lets remember Mo looks very good without a pass rush. He could be pro-bowl player if Tank can provide some pressure.

I think it's well-established (has been for two years) that our defense isn't that good. Yet, it did what it had to do to get us a win.
