They still are trying and have no footage only trash talk between two idiots.

Personally I think he didn't do it, and admitted it because it would be easier to handle the media firestorm saying he did it then saying he didn't.

Has anyone ever been suspended for spitting?

If TO is the first and gets suspended for this particular game, it will smack of conspiracy.

Exactly..no one has been suspended...only fines so far.
IF...TO is suspended...it only proves the conspiracy against the Cowboys.

Which started with Tagliabutt [arse]. And his hatred toward the Cowboys...because he is a Foreskins fans....

He will have made a call to Goodall

I'd say the only thing it would prove is that the league is tired of TO in general.

It's funny, everyone around the country thinks that the NFL is secretly Pro-Dallas as the refs supposedly give us every call.

Madden knows what is going to give them ratings and a Cowboys vs Eagles game on Christmas for control of the division. No way, No how is goes down with T.O. being suspended for spitting on a guy that no one actually saw it happen in the first place. They will have a cameraman that is a "spy" on T.O. for 3 solid hours, who is going to pay his salary if T.O. is suspended?

Goodall will only do that if he is stupid. He knows its going to be a ratings bonanza. Taylor and Romanoski were both caught on film and not suspended. How is he going to suspend T.O. for spitting when no one saw it happen before the biggest ratings game of the year on Christmas. In a word UNLIKELY.

I personally do not even see why spitting is a fine.

If it were, the NFL should be collecting at least $100k from the bottom of every pileup. If they wanted to go farther, with all the eye gouging and nut rattling that goes on, it should be upwards of $250k.

It's a common occurence in EVERY game for this to happen.

Does it make it right? Nope. But we can't pick and choose when it is okay to do something and when it isn't, though.

I hope you are right...a 25K fine should do it...

You can get fined for calling someone a *** or spitting but a DUI or killing someone with a car while drunk (I'm looking at you leonard little) gets no fine.

The guy knows football, and what is important.

You say this now, but you will rip him apart next week for not giving a Cowboy player proper respect or for pointing out the mustard stain on his tie.

As much as I personally dislike everything T.O. stands for in my mind, there's no way he'll be suspended, and he shouldn't be based on NFL history.

With no video caught on TV during the broadcast, it wouldn't surprise me if this week's game is played before the NFL even calls both guys into the office to talk about it and get more information.

Forget suspensions at this time...it just won't happen.

Big John is the man. He's the only person in the world who can sell the masses the same video game over and over every year.

Does anybody know of a precedent re T.O. spitting on someone's face?

Did Romanowski get suspended maybe 8 years ago?

If Romanowski did not, T.O. is probably home free. Maybe.

Romanowski only got a $7500 fine and someone a couple of years ago got a $25000 fine (I think that's the right number). In any case, no suspension. So the worst TO should get is a fine.

Everyone keeps saying that he admitted it, but he did not admit it. He said "I got frustrated, and I apologize for that..." That is in no way an admission of spitting.

If Sean Taylor doesn't get suspened for spitting in the face of Michael Pittman last year in the playoffs. How can T.O. get suspened. He may get a fine if there is some visual evidence of the incident.

There is no way he should get suspended. There is just no precedence for it whatsoever.

What the spitting and subsequent apology does remind me of is this....

T.O. acts like a child in a lot of the things he does. He acts without thinking and does not realize the consequences of his actions. My son, 9 years old does something he is not supposed to do and thinks that saying sorry fixes everything, just like T.O. thinks from his statements Saturday night. "I apologized for it and I am just going forward" I think he said.

Like I said the other day, The more I see of T.O., the less I dislike him and realize that, at some point in his life, he just never grew up in some ways and never was taught that his actions have consequences.

As the SD KC game is winding down, Andrea Kramer, in her studly little voice, said something to the effect of - All week building up to the Dallas Philly game the main subject will be, "TO spitting in the face of DeAngelo Hall." Then she goes on to say she spoke to the NFL front office and said they will review it like they do every incident involving player behavior... She goes on to say don't rule out a suspension either...

Madden comes in right after her and says along the lines of - The game coming up this week is not about that. Next week's game is about playoffs, and the Eagles and Cowboys, and rivalries, and winning your division. So on and so on in Madden's low grumble love voice.

Hell Yeah John Madden!! All Madden left out was "Boom, Take that soap opera back to daytime TV Andrea!!"

Thank you John!!;)
I have to agree with this and add that Madden also talked about the importance of the holidays. He said something along the lines of, "if TO spitting is all we've got to talk about then we're not doing our jobs."

yeah and because of that, dont be surprised if it happens

I'm quite sure of Tagliagarbage were still running things we'd see an unprecedented suspension
