Thank You Tony Romo

Agreed. Romo played fantastic smart football. I think he made one bad decision the whole night. Got to give romo credit. He catches a lot of flack, from me, but tonight he did superb.

From DMN blog:

I really do think you can absolve oft-blamed whipping boy Tony Romo for the Cowboy's loss today. Consider these numbers:

112.1: Romo's passer efficiency rating. In 20 previous games in which Romo had a rating of at least 110.0, the Cowboys were 18-2. The only loss in which Romo had a higher rating was the overtime defeat at Arizona last year. He had a 116.2 mark.

392: Yards passing for Romo on Sunday. It was a career high in passing yardage for Romo. And, of course, when he's had 300 yards, the Cowboys were pretty much guaranteed of a win. The Cowboys were 18-3 in his 300-yard games. His previous high in a loss: 321 at Arizona last year and also at Detroit in the final game of 2006.

75.0: That was his completion percentage. OK, so I rounded up from 74.545. But, forgive me for having rose-colored glasses. It was the ninth highest completion percentage of Romo's career. The Cowboys had won each of the previous eight games.

He's the only player I have faith in on this team! He never gives up! Ever. That's the guy I want leading my team.
Great post and i couldnt agree more...without ROMO we are screwed:star:

The Defense was absolutely atrocious and there was alot of poor tackling. However, the Marion Barber fumble was absolutley rediculous and Folk needs to be sent to IR and a new kicker needs to be brought in. he has missed way too many kicks and a FA kicker probably can do better.

Quick score right there and the defense holds the Giants and Dallas has a chance to tie the game.

I'm not being sarcastic. If it weren't for this guy this team would be in much worse shape than we are presumably (8-4) in.

He made some big time throws today in the face of the Giants best defensive performance, in a very hostile environment.

Some things are unknown, like our defenses ability to make plays when it matters. Our coaches ability to motivate our players. But the one thing thats for certain.

We've got a very special quarterback.

He certainly showed me, that he can put the team on his back if neccessary.

So important and encouraging to see that from him this late in the season, instead of having a repeat performance from week 2.

If he continues to play like he did today, I really like our chances going forward.

This pretty much says it all on how bad the rest of the team was today (besides the other members of the passing game of course).

Blaming Romo today is about as tard-riffic as blaming Aikman for the 1994 NFC Championship game loss to the Niners.

We've got a very special quarterback.

Romo played well, but I don't put him in the category of "very special". He's good. At times he's very good. But with over 3 minutes to go he missed a wide open Roy Williams for what would have been a TD, and then on a 4th and 2 threw a ball at MB's feet so that there was no chance at a conversion.

Having said that, overall he was outstanding today, but we have to start winning these games. I realize he can't do it by himself, but at the same time we cant be satisfied with just stats posting. Today was on the defense.

He is the best player on a mediocre to bad team.

Im terrified that we arent going to capitalize on this gem QB talent that we have.

But special? Watch the guy up in Indy or the guy in NO. That's special.
Tony Romo > Drew Brees.

There, I said it...but I still think Brees' numbers are inflated because of the system and the talent he has around him. The Saints have a far better receiving core than Dallas.

This is what I'm afraid of. We're going to end up squandering the years of having a really good franchise QB along with lots of other talent around him like Witten, Ware, etc.

We win maybe 4 games without Romo, and thats being generous. The guy did just about everything he could do to win that game. Not his fault that everybody around him was choking like dogs.

Be patient. The core of this team is going to be around for a long time.

Romo
Witten
Ware
Ratliff
Jenkins
RW
Austin

These guys are all going to be here for a long time.

Nope, he doesn't get the "special" label until he wins a ring. I've read too many times on this site that that is a requirement for any QB to be considered good, much less special.

This team is the Commanders if we don't have Romo.
Honestly, I'm not sure we're even the skins.

I'll agree Romo has been outstanding the last 2 games but the missed TD to Roy will haunt him, trust me. Quick score right there and the defense holds the Giants and Dallas has a chance to tie the game.

dont know whats harder..trusting you or thinking the D wouldve held the giants

well played.... of course it will go on deaf ears

I will agree with anyone who says Romo isn't in the same class as Peyton Manning. But then again not being in the same class as someone who's likely to be seen as a top 5 of all time QB at the end of his career is hardly damning criticism. Brees is having a better year, not sure I would take Brees over Romo for the long haul, but its a discussion I think.

Romo helps make this offense work. Hes probably not the best player on the team, he's probably the 2nd or 3rd best player on the team.

Did anybody else see when he threw his last touchdown to Miles and Flo came over to congratulate him and he shrugged Flo off of him?

I had to rewind it to make sure I saw what I thought I saw.
