Thank your lucky stars...

The past means NOTHING. He is a different coach now because he is at the end of his career.

And yeah, he switched QB's when he brilliantly chose Scott Brunner over Phil Simms...ya know, the same Scott Brunner he saw in practice every day.

Sorry...but this ain't the same coach. I've probably seen him more than just about everyone here.

This is a guy who is trying to take the quick approach to winning because he's at the end of his career.

That is simply a fact.

I can't say I disagree, nor can I blame him. Yes, it would be nice to have a young QB step in and excel, but the odds aren't good. I'd much rather win a super bowl next year, then be starting a young struggling QB and allowing him to grow. Plus, if we assemble a complete "team" first, when we do bring in the long term answer, it will be so much easier on him.

No it is your fact and your opinion. I have seen Bill Parcells over the years just as well so don't hand me this crud that you Know Bill Parcells better than anyone around here. You know what is in your mind so don't try to sell it as anything more than your own thoughs.

The one thing that will hurt or help Manning is that he will face, some of the best defenses in the league year after year within the division.

He won't get any better as a player, I agree. But with a better team surrounding him (and that was kind of my point) he can play at a much higher level. Look how well he was doing when just the Oline played better. I mean, we still had zero running game, but he was the highest rated passer in the NFC, and like third in the league for the first half. That's impressive to me.
So how long can Bledsoe go, and what do we do after Bledsoe?

I think Bledsoe's got one or two more really good years left in him. Honestly, I believe there's a reason Henson's still on this team, and that is to take over when Bledsoe and Parcells are done. I believe the Cowboys with a few tweaks, nothing major, are legit super bowl contenders next year. I also think next year might be Parcells last, and that the extension was just made so that it didn't feel like we had an interim coach next year.

And there's nothing in the entire history of football that suggests it helps a young QB to play during his first two seasons anyway. For every successful QB who had extensive playing time early in his career, there's one who hardly played at all.

We are VERY fortunate to have Bledsoe as our QB for the next 2 seasons!

2006 will be OUR year!!

I can buy that, I just hope that if Henson is the future, we can get him in just to taste the competition even a little.

For someone like him, I really think NFLE can help. He needs game experience more than anything else (and I need some football to watch this spring, LOL) so NFLE, despite the lower level of competition, will be real valuable for him. Hopefully we can get in some blowouts next year, and he can come in and hand the ball off and throw a couple outs.
