Louie knows he’ll never get another NFL head coaching or coordinator job. Probably got marching orders to lose but make it look good. Only explanation for that give-up FG. Got promised a perpetual advisor role should he ever need it.

I mean...they're goal was to lose,....and they STILL almost accidentally won. That's how bad they suck....they WANTED to lose (players probably are clueless, but coaches had their directives).and yet they almost screwed THAT up. Took that blatant tank job deep handoff on 3rd and 2 feet from goal line to secure the L, but that was just so obvious, knowing 2 QB sneaks guarantees a win , especially against a poor run defense.

It's a humiliating win, knowing they gave it to us despite our many tries to not accept it, but I'll take it (shamefully).

The league really needs to look into these teams that intentionally lose though, as it threatens the integrity of the game, even if we benefited from it today
In a world full of untrue goofy posts this one is up there for best of the month.

Texans played hard, played with ambition and aggression and just played well.
They may well have won that game had the truly quality RB not gotten hurt.
But Dallas going 98 yards to win this was about talent and execution when it mattered not any tanking by the Texans.
They fought hard to the bitter end including a massive shot on Gallup to prevent the TD for one more play.
They burned their time outs to smartly have some time for a shot at the win.

The Colts were tanking, the Texans badly wanted this one.

There's no way you go for it on 4th downs trying to lose.

I live in an area with no pro teams.

All the cowboy fans I watched games with were Laker and Yankee fans. Just kinda got lured in by all the other cowboy fans I knew.
Good stuff bro! Im a Lakers,Dodgers, USC, and Boys fan. I grew up in Southern California

You do know that the Texans could have lost this game and easily still been in line for the No. 1 pick, right?

This is the Texas bragging rights game. No one on that side of the field wanted to lose.

I actually understand why the Texans went for it on 4th and goal up 23-20. A field goal still meant Dallas would have won. And it would have given Dallas better field position after the kickoff.

They probably weren't expecting a 98 yard game winning drive but something went Dallas' way eventually.

So no, Houston did not tank. In fact they did everything they could to win.

Yes, they COULD have still had it, with 4 games to go.

I get it. No team in NFL has ever tanked.

And if they have, it would never be against us because we dem boys? Yeah, no team has ever lost on purpose.

Going for td doesn't prove tank.

Calling a play with little chance of success, over a play that's all but guaranteed to get u the TD, proves the tank. But us previously mentioned, teams tank against other organizations....NEVER against us, because beating Dem Boys is all any team has ever cared about. We are what every other team, player, and fan ever thinks about.

Yep, they only thing more blatant would have been to run a double reverse halfback flea flicker down there on the 2 foot line. Would only have been slightly less blatant than the plays they actually called LOL
I was being sarcastic

The players wanted to win. Not sure what game you watched? And they almost did. Pierce is a beast of a RB.

Just go read the dam Houston media coverage... the reporters and football people that cover the team week in, week out LOL.

I know you still won't believe it....and may actually convince urselves they are tanking against every single team, but us, because obviously beating Dallas is all anyone is concerned about, what with our organizational dominace over the last 25 years.

Man, denial is a Powerful thing.

The Texans are a product. And no sound business would purposely tank against their closest direct competitor. It is not logical that Texans ownership would tell their coaches and organization to lose on purpose of all games this one in particular. What is the point? Win or lose, the #1 pick is not in jeopardy. Why further diminish your product by purposely losing to your instate market rival and in "heartbreaking fashion"?

Anybody that lives in Texas knows the Houston/DFW rivalry is a thing. This is not a get up for the Cowboys moment. If you're ownership of the Texans you absolutely give your fanbase this win, in exchange for the other losses that they are sitting through all season long. The Texans, their fanbase, and their ownership would have no doubt enjoyed this win, and still got the benefits of their long term goals of the draft.

I'm not letting them off the hook that easy, and saying, "oh they play hard for 58 minutes, but they were wanting to tank" so they graciously gave us the win.

Nah we stepped up, and took that win from them and sent them back down I-45.

Sigh…you missed the obvious: Lovie Smith is maybe the dumbest HC in the history of the game. And, the Texans are such an awful organization that they are the only team on earth that would put Lovie in the position to make those moronic decisions he did when they had us at 1st and Goal after the Dak interception. They could have beat us with a TD or pressured us with a FG. With a FG they force us to get a TD and they still might of won with a late FG the way they drove the field after we scored. Instead, Lovie went with 4 straight runs and got zero points. Now if your theory was they tanked the whole season by hiring Lovie….
