That Texas Stadium Crowd is CRAP!

TS has, by and large, been a fairly docile place to play. Sure, there are times the crowd can get a bit loud, but for the most part it's a tame venue.

Nothing new.
 
I was at the game. I was loud, but you are right, that's how it is.

And it will stay that way - that is just the attitude we from Dallas carry, and always has been. We are even keeled and don't get real emotional about a lot of stuff.

I make no apology - it's just our demeanor. Maybe after watching Landry for so many years, we took on his attitude.
 
many people take the "texas cool" thing too far... especially in white-collar Dallas. dang near British in their reservedness.

Meh - I suppose. But this isn't Pittsburg or Cleveland - it just isn't one of those rowdy, blue collar cities. We are what we are. We prefer to sit back, relax, watch the game, have a good time.

I sat behind several Detroit fans, and it was just a little banter, then some intelligent football talk. We all had a good time - all around we tried to make sure they had a good time too, even though they were losing. They didn't buy a beer after the 1st quarter - we all took care of it for them (save one jackass who said something profane - he and I had a bit of a tussle).

We will never be Oakland or Philly - just the way it is.
 
Nobody wants Oakland or Philly, but we are the other extreme. Somewhere in the middle would be fantastic. Which crowd in the NFL is more docile than ours right now??

I don't like to see anyone have a bad time, and I really don't like the profane things he said when there were 3 kids behind me.

If you want it to be more rowdy, move to Dallas and come to the games. In the meantime, watch the TV and enjoy.

um, I'm not talking about our team I'm talking about our homecrowd

honestly I'm not going to sit here and try to convince you because obviously you're one of those people that everyone else on here is complaining about
 
COuple of beers, and I'll be louder than hell.

It's hard to be loud when every play ends with a penalty, and not only that, theirs a conference after each play.

No joke there - we tried to get loud on some series, but the offense was boring and the yellow flags were killing us.

We ended up just sitting a lot, drinking some (nasty) beer, and talking football with the Detroit fans.

I still had a good time. Anything is better than work right now.

I know - you said other teams aren't afraid to play here. Yet they aren't exactly beating the hell out of us.
 
Honestly though I thought that the crowd wasn't so bad today as it usually is

once again, do you think that will change with the new stadium once it's built? how many more seats is it going to hold? like 7,000 more?

I really do hope that crap changes

Texas Stadium reminds me of a big giant *insert p-word* as opposed to places like Philly and Denver where you can't even hear yourself think

No - it probably won't change. The AAC is a fantastic venue, and the crowd is just as docile for Mavs and Stars games, unless something interesting happens or it is a playoff game.
 
Crown, true that about the Mavs but I think the Mavs crowd is a lot more "rowdy and loud" than the Cowboys crowd

I went to the game last year against the Spurs where we killed them by 36 points and I was sittin way up in the high section and even people there were jumpin out of their seats and yelling and cheering

THEN, I went to Game 2 of the playoffs against the Rockets in the 1st round and sat in the 20th row and it was insane in there... people jumping up and yelling after practically every made basket by the Mavs

I love going to Mavs games

That's true - but a Mavs game (especially those two) are much faster paced than almost any Cowboys game in TC. Even then - I doubt a Mavs crowd compares to a Detroit or even Miami crowd.
 
Yeah I agree, but as far as Dallas overall not being a "noisy sports city" I think that's wrong. Everytime I watch games with my college buds and family we're "rowdy loud and proud"

I think it's just the people that can afford to go to the games are the ones that are the conservative type

bah, I dunno. Guess I'll forever be frustrated with it =(
 
Take 30 of us Zoners down to Texas Stadium and I'll guarantee a CRUNK home field advantage.

Hey CR, I was at the game, too. Was sitting by the Lions entrance.

It was noisy in my section. Can't comment on anybody else. Rowdy kicked the ball into the stands and it flew right over my head. I'm mad, cuz I had my camera in my hand and it kept me from going after it.

As for the crowd noise. The game was dead today. TS has been noisy at other games I've gone to. This just wasn't one of them.

I'll stand by what I've said in the past. Buy a ticket, go to the game and do your part. Complaining about the lack of noise doesn't do any good if you aren't there...
