The 1-3 Thread

You're comparing Dak to a multi SB winning QB on one of his extremely few below average nights. Is this where we are at now?

I hope you are in sales of some sort. You, are a natural.
,
Brady has what, 5 SB rings and you just compared Dak to him.:omg:

Wow
Further, Do any of the factors I mentioned earlier in the thread, which you've glossed over, affect the potential total passing yards per game for any QB?

Knowledgeable QB coach
Competent HC
Competent OC
Capable Oline

He sucked last night. Now the question is how often does that happen? If it's very rare a QB can still be great in spite of it. If it is a common occurrence then he's likely to be out of the league sooner rather than later.
I would agree there. But I'm looking for answers from the peanut gallery based upon other obvious factors that are affecting the performance of our QB. I got all day...

Tom Brady threw for 133 yards last night (against the Lions..) Does he suck? @dfense
Tom doesn't do that every week, does he?

Now that Tyrod is out, it's official, Cowboys have the worst QB in the league. Neither Garrett or Linehan has ever had an offense in all their years of coaching that they couldn't get the dog to hunt. You can blame everything from the color of their uni's to the the position of the moon. But after 3 years, no progress. How you can argue that is beyond me.

Josh Allen, who I would have traded Zeke, a #1 and a #2 for. Already has more yards passing and a higher QB rating than Dak in only 2 games. The only two QBs behind Dak are not starting anymore.

If you want to blame someone other than your golden boy, blame the ownership. Not drafting quality skill position players for years really hampered the coaching staff.

I say a prayer every night before I go to bed that the Jones twins aren't dumb enough to give Dak3 an extension.

So your mind is incapable of rationally answering the question. Ok. Thanks for playing.

I will say I have seen countless posts, comparing Dak to Brady or Rodgers etc. all the time when the comparison isn't favorable. Numerous, well Brady can get the job done without a #1WR, Rodgers makes others around him better, or Romo had Linehan as an OC too and look at his numbers. Dak is not nor will he ever be Rodgers or Brady, but who is? Yet, he's always compared to all time greats when it's convenient to bash him. Dak is the QB for now, he doesn't look like the future, but there are other problems with this offense, staff and philosophy that Dak's poor play is exposing.

I said it in another thread, Dak isn't the cause, he's the symptom of a larger problem within this organization. A better QB would be a bandaid and not a real fix for what is ailing this team. There are ways this staff could improve what we have right now. Zeke has 15, 16 17 carries in 3 games. Why is our elite RB averaging less than 18 carries a game? Why are we putting the games on a struggling QB instead of an elite RB. I hear it's because of stacked boxes, but yet he's the leading rusher in the league with a pretty decent average. Why do they go away from plays that work and constantly go back to ones that don't? His struggles were evident at the end of last season, but didn't try to upgrade the talent. If we had a franchise QB, would this really be the WR/TE talent that you would want around him?

Thanks for sharing a great perspective.

Someone help me here.

Zeke stepped out of bounds on a circle route on the right sideline. Perfect throw from Dak. TD.... Flag because dude rounded the route all the way to the liquor store to grab some Henny on the way.

Great runner.. but we need that other piece too. Catch passes out of the backfield.

Is that on the player or the coaching staff?
Dude a middle school QB could’ve made that throw. Zeke was wide open and was less than 20 yards away.

Do you guys have issues with answering questions???

Was that faux pas by Zeke on the player or the coaches?

Ha ha. You Dak homers are embarrassing yourselves. Why not throw the waterboy or equipment guys in there to. ha ha ha.

13 games left of this aweful RG3 experiment.
You're a idiot if you think the coaching on this team is acceptable. You clearly were blinded by what Romo did with it.

Listen closely.

Dak could have performed better yesterday. There were a few high and low throws that made a difference.

That said:

  • His offensive line continues to woefully under-perform in the area of pass protection.
  • His OC is in the booth and apparently using the appointed QB coach as an intermediary for communication with Dak. Dumbest thing ever. Linehan and Dak should always be in direct communication. Kellen Moore (aka Garrett Jr in OJT) can listen in but he should not be in the middle of the comm between the OC and the QB.
  • Please watch the all 22 and observe Tyron getting abused. It's sad to see and we all know the LT is the right handed QB's security blanket.. period.
  • Zeke did him zero favors on that wheel route to the liquor store and then to the end zone on a perfectly thrown TD pass via a scramble (because the pocket collapsed yet again).
  • Connor Wiliams is also someone to watch. He's learning in place and gets pretty abused at times by stronger NFL level DTs.
Be sure to note the bull rush of Connor into Dak's throat yesterday.
So, with all that being said, there are much bigger issues than just blaming Dak.

I've said it before and I will say it once more. Cooper Rush looked like the second coming last preseason. Even I bought into it. Be honest with yourself and tell me how he looked this preseason... a preseason in which he got loads of playing time because Dak was bubble wrapped... Is Cooper that bad? No... Does Kellen Moore inspire Cooper Rush? No.... Does Linehan adjust his strategy to suit the skills of his play caller... A thousand times no....

I don't buy into the opinion that it's all on the signal caller when you have all of what I outlined going on around him. The oline is a literal shambles. Dak doesn't know snap to snap whether Tyron is going to get school or Connor is going to get bull rushed. His left side is the most important side for that right handed QB. Why might Dak get happy feet in the pocket? Perhaps absorb some of what I just said here...
When we get rid of Dak people will realize eventually how much Tyron has fell off and how bad this receiving group is. It's going to be a huge shocker when people realize this line isn't what it once was.

When are we going to blame Jerry and Stephen. Who deserve all the blame for the cesspool that's this organization.

Let them...

First it was the WRs...

Got some new ones and we still suck!

Then it was Dez..

Cut him and we still suck!

Then it was Zeke missing games..

Zeke' s out here getting 7.9 yards per carry and we still suck!

Now , all they have is to blame the coaches..

Once we get rid of them , and we are still sucking, they will realize it was the QB all along

I'm worried the Cowboy might come to my place of work and pink slip me also.....lol....ya man fire everyone but that HUGE elephant in the room wearing # 4.....

They're blinded by their hatred of a single player. So sadly blinded that they can see the wealth of variables surrounding him.

Well put

Right. Players with the talent, like an undrafted QB, excelled despite the coaching. And I'm the idiot.

Wow..The first thing you've said that didn't make me cringe. Bravo.
See.. The truth shall set you free.
