The 10 Worst Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Snubs.

I don't agree with all 10 but most of them deserve to be in the R&R HOF. Especially if you can sell out a 10-12,000+ seat arena on a weekday night after 30+ years in the industry. Some of the weak bands currently in the HOF couldn't do that if they tried.

I could comment and argue points for most of them to be the RRHOF.... But Journey, Bon Jovi.. Not in that's crazy.

Maiden, Leppard.... All these bands .... They owned the 80s. Mushroomed the mtv wave

Idk I have mixed opinions on this, the RRHOF should just be reserved for the crème de la crème of the rock world, which means they should have 1 maybe 2 bands inducted per year not 5 or 6. Strange I heard Bon Jovi on a classic rock station the other day and 2 things occurred to me.
1. Jeesh they really did suck.
2. Man I must be getting old/er.

At the rate they are inducting bands NickelBack will get in before DP.

Go to their website and check out some of the recent inductiees. It's mind boggling who is in. What they call "rock" is completely different than my defination. I'm in my 50's and have listened to rock every day since the early 70's. It's staggering how many groups are inducted that I have never heard of.

O I just hit the big Five 0 and I agree.......

Here is this taken from the official site..........
Eligibility
"To be eligible for induction as an artist (as a performer, composer, or musician) into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the artist must have released a record, in the generally accepted sense of that phrase, at least 25 years prior to the year of induction; and have demonstrated unquestionable musical excellence. We shall consider factors such as an artist's musical influence on other artists, length and depth of career and the body of work, innovation and superiority in style and technique, but musical excellence shall be the essential qualification of induction.

"and have demonstrated unquestionable musical excellence"
Well this right here should disqualify many inductees..........
The sad fact of the matter is, is that they are running out of bands that are comparable to say the Beatles, Stones, Zep, Floyd ,etc. This is why you see bands getting inducted ala Joan Jett or Green Day whos level of musicianship is below average.

BTW did you hear the EVH interviewTuesday? New LP and more importantly, he said he couldn't wait to hit the road.

I didn't and from what ive heard its a live album taken from the last tour and they are remastering their first 6 albums as well. Ive seen them around 10 times starting from 1979 and I guess that will be 11 before too long lol.

I also heard it's a live LP. I've seen them at least a dozen times. Some pretty good and a couple of real clunkers. Especially the last couple with DLR right before the split. He was so drunk he only sang half the songs at best.

Man, it's hard for me to argue with any of those except maybe Yes. Maiden, Judas Priest, and Deep Purple not being in is ridiculous.

I think Jon Bon Jovi is the guy that is friends with Jerry but hates on the team. Giants fan maybe?

Anyway I disqualify him & his cheesy band just on that alone.

The last 2 tours at least Daves voice has just been shot and Eds playing while still good isn't on par what it was from inception until 84. In their prime they were a wonderful live but I guess age and other factors have diminished it.

Tom Waits is in. I'm happy.

He's a Philadelphia Soul brother. Can't publicly like Jerry Jones. But he's apparently a really good business man, from the time he took over running the band. So it's not surprising he and Jerry had something in common.

Fantastic list. I agree with every single one they noted.

Bon Jovi should be in based on the top notch chicks that went to their concerts. Yeah I know that's wrong but I don't care.

I think it's stunning that neither Connie Francis nor Neil Sedaka are in the HOF.

Connie was the first female superstar of the R&R era. 13 top 10 hits along with 2 #1's.

Sedaka had 9 top 10 hits and 3 #1's. In addition he wrote or co-wrote many Top-40 hits for other artists including the #1, "Love Will Keep Us Together" by Captain & Tennille.

The Hall is a sham.

Another thing about Bon Jovi: On August 28, 1988, Bon Jovi just happened to be on a European tour. On that very day, on the flight line of Ramstein Air Force Base, West Germany, I was working at my Air Force squadron's stand on said flight line, and a very large air show was going on. Two jets hit each other, right next to the crowd, and upwards of 70 people died, and many more injured. This became known as the "Ramstein Air Disaster".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramstein_air_show_disaster

Bon Jovi became involved because they immediately diverted their tour to Ramstein and put on a "free" concert in the massive Hanger 1 on the Ramstein flight line in order to raise money for the victim's families. (Donations of whatever you wanted, as high as you could, was the idea.)

That's what kind of people Bon Jovi are. I have held them in the highest esteem ever since.

change the name of the HOF to begin with, half the people in there have nothing to do with Rock and Roll

That's a nice story. I find them a bit cheesy but they were (are?) popular & have sold a lot of records so they belong.

Music is so personal. I hear songs on the radio & question how they get paid to sing & then someone will come along & say that's the best group ever!

I went to see Bon Jovi around 88 or so......not a bad show just not my cup of tea.
The crowd was what military strategists refer to as a "target rich environment".
