Because Emmitt Smith held out in 1993...

And the 95 Cowboys clearly showed how much they were deteriorating despite their talent and even then FA just started kicking in, so they retained some of their talent.. by the next year, it was clear they were done..

Perspective.

I think I'm just going to pretend this never happened and act surprised later when any of you guys mention it.

Moving on. We've got a big game agains the Broncos next week, and need to really be ready for it because I hear they have a pretty good defense.

Don't worry. I fully trust JG will have the team ready to play and have a great game plan to beat them easily. Cake walk. ;)

The 1993 Cowboys lost 35-16 in the opener to Washington and started 0-2

The 1995 Cowboys lost 38-13 to San Francisco and lost twice to the 5-11 Commanders

Are you kidding me?

The point is that the Patriots ARE better than us and STILL got their butts kicked, on national television. And at home no less. If it can happen to them, it can happen to any good team.

You can't be that dense
They can, unfortunately.

People watch the NFL as if it is the college game. All that matters is making the tournamen. If you go 3-1 during each 4 game stretch of the year then you finish 12-4 and in. Cardinals then Rams. I'm looking at 3-1 to start the first quarter

You know the worst part? I bet most fans probably had Denver as an "L" before the season started. I mean it made sense for us to lose to that defense.

Fast forward.......

We lose. "Omg we suck, dak is a scrub and dez is so overrated. Fire Garrett!"

Reality check! That 92 team had Darren Woodson , Kevin smith, James Washington, bill bates , Kenny gant , issac holt in the secondary. We have Nolan freaking Caroll and some long jumper who runs away from tackling.

We aren't winning anything significant without some good safeties.

That 38-0 was a MNF game in St Louis and it was a bit chilly there. I seem to remember it being foggy or a bit rainy. Not sure about that. Howard Cosell and Dandy Don were at each other all night. I still remember it well. We did absolutely nothing right. It was perhaps the worst game I've ever seen Dallas play outside the early 60s. In fact the early 60s they had a reasonable offense and were entertaining. That game we got beat every series on offense and defense. I don't remember the STs but they had to be no better than average likely worse.

Exactly

This game was almost unanimously considered the toughest in the first half of the season, given that we played GB at home and this was on the road. Almost every prediction I saw had this down as a loss. And now suddenly we're doomed just because it looked uglier than people would have liked.

Denver historically has the best home field advantage in all of the major American sports, they win something like 72% of their home games. And their defense might be the best in the NFL with easily the best secondary.

You're right, of course, that it's just one loss. I usually had the dramatic overreactions and almost total inability to attribute the causes of a loss to their actual sources, but, when you get a butt kicking like this one, pretty much across the board, I understand the reaction. This is the worst beating we've had under Jason Garrett, I think. People are gonna *****.
