Kobe does not have to play all that well. He just has to do what he does night in, night out. Everybody seems to think that Kobe played so well last night. In fact, he didn't play all that well. He played good but not great. Kobe shot 48% from the field last night. He's averaged right around 46% for the playoffs. His season average is 47%. He got hot when he needed to but he always does that and I really don't expect that to change much. The problem, as I said earlier, is that Orlando doesn't have anybody to match up with him. He's going to get his shot whenever he wants to because of the match ups.

I expect Orlando to shoot better in the series but I don't expect them to shoot 48% like they did against Cleveland.

Kobe sat on the bench for like 30 minutes and came in and shot like 1-5. He was on pace for 50 last night easily. It was seriously a one man show last night. I've said it before. Kobe will get his, there's no doubt. When the Magic want to actually show up they are impossible to beat.

Guys...Kobe has to play like that EVERY game. LeBron did the same thing, only difference is that Alston decided to overachieve along with Rashard and Turk. They'll start making thier shots.Don't worry.

You've made the mistake of assuming Kobe can't go out and score 40 night in and night out if he wanted to. The main difference is Phil Jackson won't let him, that's not the way he coaches his teams. Even when they were up 20 he was saying they were relying on Kobe too much and the other guys need to get involved.

"Are we addressing you or this fictional 'Winning' character?" :lmao2:

Odom can defend Lewis. Ariza can defend Turkoglu. Howard will get his but the Lakers' bigs can make him earn much of it at the line.

Kobe will not be contained. Even if he's not scoring 40, he's drawing multiple defenders and making the right read time after time.

(By the way, can someone kindly explain to me why Courtney Lee starts over Mickael Pietrus? Thanks.)

The only way Orlando can contend is if they dominate the PG match-up. Jameer Nelson is the ultimate wild card in this series. He absolutely killed LA during the regular season, and he looked pretty good last night for having been out for 4 months. If he can play at a near 100% level at some point during this series (my guess is it won't happen until maybe Game 4 at the earliest, if at all), the momentum of this series can take a dramatic turn. They didn't beat LA twice this year by accident.

Hostile, if the NBA is as rigged as you think it is, there's no way LeBron would've been watching last night's game from home.

Kobe looks like a shaved *****

LOL!!!!

Unfortunately the way game one went it looks as if the Lakers might be kicking the piss out of the Magic in this series. Unfortunately that means Kobe winning another ring. Yuck.

I used to hate Kobe, but I've lost track of the NBA, haven't watched a single game in 2 years

I hated him, Camby, Kenyon Martin, Wally Sczerbiak, used to be a big Spurs fan, I just can't get in to it anymore, but I will admit that Kobe is a hell of a nice player

I'm so weird.

I've picked the Lakers to win it in 6, but for whatever reason, after the Magic loss in game 1, I have never been more tempted to say that they're going to win it. They were just having an off night. Nothing worked for them after the first 1 1/2 quarters.

However, I dont know if I can. Lakers in 6.

Listen to the words from Steve Smith at the end of the segment. Do you agree/disagree?

I agree. Fundamentally. Sure why not. Still means he's garbage and not a team player. He's an idiot acting like he's got the "eye of the tiger"..get outttta here Kobe with that fake drama crap. He can't win without Shaq. That's just facts. He whines and *****es at his teammates and wants every call. I hope he has fun throwing up 35 shots a game and not getting his teammates involved. History tells us that's how the Lakers lose.
