so anyway, Adebayor to City. I don't know what to think. Last season, it didn't seem like Adebayor was motivated. I don't mind the sale, but Wenger BETTER buy someone who can win balls in the air to replace him. We're constantly being linked to Chamakh, but I wouldn't mind Huntelaar.

And I have no idea what City is doing. Are they planning on playing a 4-0-6?

I just got back from watching the AC Milan vs. Club America match in the World Football Challenge here in Atlanta. I had no idea what the crap was going on, but oh man was it awesome. The CA fans outnumbered the Milan fans probably 3-1 and they were all going wild. I had random girls throwing giant mexican flags around me and squeezing in with us for pictures, dudes teaching the obviously out of place Americans the chants and guys painted up in team colors and wearing mexican wrestling masks beating drums around us.

Soccer fans sure do know how to party.

I watched that game on ESPN2 tonight.

Im a Ronaldhino fan so I was rooting for AC Milan.

They should've won too but one of the guys blew 2 easy goal opportunities.

Oh well they play Chelsea this friday.

You actually got to watch good Soccer too. Not that stuff thats going on @ Cowboys stadium.

I wouldn't consider it good soccer though. Milan was still in preseason form and looked pretty dire for most of the match. Only player that seemed to care initially was Gatusso. Chelsea-Milan should be fun. Ancelotti vs his former team. The stadium in Baltimore is completely sold out.

i'm looking forward to wednesday night. we're playing dinamo moscow in a champions league qualifier which will be my first chance to see our new look team - new manager and at least 3 new signings. unfortunately i won't get to the game though as my flight back from uist doesn't get in till an hour before kick off which doesn't give me enough time to get from the airport out to celtic park.

I went to the Sounders v Chelsea exhibition match last weekend. There's still an obvious gap in the talent level between top Euro. clubs and their American counterparts, but Qwest Field was nearly sold out. It's definitely nice to see such a high interest level for soccer in the U.S.

terrible start but it was always going to be hard with them being in the middle of their league season and us playing our first competitive game of our season. still hopefull that we can get an early goal in moscow next week which would open the tie back up. ended up not getting to see it as the game wasn't on tv, i think due to a dispute over the tv deal for the league season, but by all accounts we played some good football but just couldn't take our chances. at least the game is on tv next week so after having swapped my shifts about in work i'll be able to watch it.

WOW. clutch victory for you guys. not sure the seeds for the Playoff. You better hope Celtic doesn't get matched up with Arsenal ;)

i watched the game in my usual celtic minded pub, the atmosphere was amazing. i got absolutely soaked in beer when samaras scored the winner. the way the seedings work out we get arsenal, athletico madrid, fiorentina, lyon or stuttgart in the final qualification round. i would back us to beat lyon, stuttgart and possibly fiorentina but i couldn't see us getting past arsenal or madrid. was a great performance last night though, we were the better team from start to finish in my probably biased opinion. samaras did brilliantly with the winner, he had no right to score from what was basically a hopeful punt into the box but he managed to control it on his chest beat two men and place it back across himself into the bottom corner.
i'm feeling very rough this morning it has to be said!!!

just to amend the teams we can draw are actualy arsenal, lyon, sporting lisbon, panathanaikos or stuttgart which is a more achievable feat unless we get arsenal

yeah, samaras showed a lot of patience with that goal. Bendtner would have just skied that on the first touch.

I just hope we don't get drawn with either Fiorentina or Athletico Madrid. We beat Madrid the other day in a Friendly, but I don't want to have to face Aguero or Forlan twice.

celtic v arsenal it is then. not what i would have picked but should be a fantastic atmosphere at celtic park for the first leg, should be a great night. the only thing is with it being arsenal it will give the board an excuse to charge me more for my ticket.
we're definately second favourites but very few teams come to celtic park and get a positive result in europe, barcelona (twice), ajax and dinamo moscow are the only teams i can think of in the last 10 years while we have beaten valencia, milan, man united, barcelona, lyon and juventus in that time. should be two great games

yeah, it definitely won't be easy for us at celtic park. Especially sucks now that both Nasri and Rosicky are hurt. But Arsenal in recent years has done well at hostile foreign environments in European competition (Bernabeau, Villareal, San Siro, Fenerbache).

my prediction:

1st leg: 1-1
2nd leg: 2-0 arsenal

wasn't to bad price wise i only got charged £30 for my ticket. i don't know about predictions my head says we'll get at least a draw if not a one goal win at home but probably lose over the two legs but my heart is saying 2-1 celtic at celtic park then a score draw at the emirates.

huge game tonight though for scotland. a win in oslo and we look strong favourites to get the play-off spot for world cup qualification but if we lose then we will really struggle to make it. as always seems to be the case with scotland we go into the game with a fairly depleted team. i think we should have too much for norway though and will go for us winning two nil.

Guess that explains why there's so many drunk men in skirts here today :laugh2:

Our team wasn't out drinking last night like they usually do on all the national team gatherings so watch out :laugh1:
