Next year’s QB draft class is absolutely LOADED.

Caleb Williams: comped to Patrick Mahomes by NFL scouts

Drake Maye: comped to Trevor Lawrence by NFL scouts

Quinn Ewers: comped to Kenny Pickett by one former NFL GM

Riley Leonard: comped to Daniel Jones by private QB coach

Spencer Rattler: Was projected potential first overall pick at one point

Bo Nix: comped to Derek Carr by NFL scouts

JJ McCarthy: potential first round pick according to NFL scouts

Joe Milton: comped to Anthony Richardson by NFL scouts

Michael Penix: comped to Tua Tagovailoa by NFL scouts

Honorable mention: Shedeur Sanders, Jayden Daniels, KJ Jefferson, Jordan Travis

It’s still early, but this class has CRAZY potential.

What is McClay's history scouting quarterbacks?
Don't know, but he sure can see talent.....what's the answer??
I have trust in McClay, especially with his ability to find tslent that not necessarily sticks to consensus opinion.
With Dak's negotiations ramping up we at least to show some semblance of competition or France can write his own check.
We could probably do with a decent QB2, taking into account Dak's age and recent injuries.

While McClay has performed quite admirably in judging some positional talent, you seem easily enslaved by lazy narratives. Evaluation of a quarterback is a world apart from other evaluating other positions.

When drafting a quarterback...I'd far sooner trust a current/former quarterback coach and his evaluation over McClay's judgment.

Rattler has fallen off quite a bit. I can still see him being a day 2 or early day 3 guy

We don't have a real GM.
I'm aware. This is why I said it's cute that some here are pretending the Cowboys have a GM.

Stephen and Jerry make the final decisions on things as a GM does on other teams. Jerry does give himself the GM title, but yeah, he isn't really.

Those in here acting like McClay is the decision maker are amusing. Yes, I know he has some input, just like ANY other personnel guy, but he makes zero final decisions.

Unfortunately you are correct.

After the Osa, Golston and Wright 3rd round I said to myself 'this guy is special'.

I usually see Drake Maye's comp as Justin Herbert.
But either way....stud

I'm not sure we know that.
tbt

Then again, McClay just oversees the scouting department. There are a bunch of scouts in the organization specializing in various positions.
