agreed, from that angle it looked like the old gradeschool trick to throw just the foot into the moveing legs of the guy in front to at least trip him up and at worst get legs really tangled--at full speed, remember kids breaking legs with that stunt.

It wasn't just an intentional tripping. He garabbed the recever's arm to help "pull" himself into tripping position. The tape does not lie.

Without question it was PI since he wasn't looking for the ball. But if you look closely from the end zone view you can see he deliberately tripped Austin hoping to get the inadvertant contact call.

Bingo, from that angle you can see him sweep Austin with his leg

Yeah it was a good call. Besides the illegal use of the hands, the way that he tripped him went far beyond an inadvertent trip. In slow mo you could see that it was not their feet that got tangled it was the DB's knee coming up and side sweeping Miles' upper leg.....from behind. Now I will use my favorite quote from a Sonic commercial to describe the announcers that game: "What a duffus".

If you guys get a chance to watch it again the defender clearly runs over Austin's feet to trip him on PURPOSE.

And if you see a replay of the first PI on Miles, the guy (not even sure if it was the same DB) did pretty much the same thing. It almost looks to me like the GB DBs are coached to do that if they're beat.
