Broadus just said the names... Earl Thomas, Mike Iupati, and Dez Bryant were the 3.

Broadus said this guy will have to get better at life skills but he is NOT any kind of criminal.

You could not watch the tape and not think he is the best receiver in the draft by far.

Also says the Day couldnt have gone any better for the Cowboys.

He says now they will focus on finding a Safety. Mentions Nate Allen, Chad Jones (like that kid), Morgan Burnett.

Also going to look at the offensive tackles they brought in. Doesn't think Bruce Campbell will be available.

Might also add a corner.

I'd be happy with Burnett or Allen in round 2. I think that Burnett fits us better, but either would be a great pick for us.

Last night on The Ticket they kept mentioning 4 guys the 'Boys really wanted and ended up getting one. Either way the Cowboy get the player they targeted.

Going after a S, OT and CB makes perfect sense and is exactly what I would do. Somehow we fill two of those needs tonight. If we succeed you can give the Cowboys a grade A for the first three rounds and sets us up for Saturday nicely.

I imagine there is going to be some really good veterans cut this year too.

If Dallas HAS to they can always sign Darren Sharper for a year or 2.

I imagine we will at least be paper champions by July.

Only thing I dont like about Chad Jones is he played at LSU.

I think the guy has all kinds of upside.

I'd rather have Nate Allen but after that i'd be cool with Jones.

He also has serious downside.

He has made it clear baseball is his first love. If things don't go right, he would use that as a fallback.

I would not even have a player like that on my board.

Out of those 3 players, we got the player that I wanted the most. As the picks got closer and closer to Dallas I was actually becoming less optimistic about getting Dez. I was beginning to think maybe our interest in him was a smokescreen. I was thinking that if we really wanted him we would have moved up by now to get him, this was around the packers selection. Then I saw Schefter report Dez to Baltimore and I immediately had given up.

Once we traded up with New England I cannot even explain how happy I was. I jumped out of my chair and yelled so loud. I have never been so excited about a draft pick before. It was as if Romo had just thrown a hail marry, miracle 50 yard TD pass to Austin to win a game or something. I am still smiling from ear to ear. I absolutely LOVE IT

Bruce Campbell would be an awsome addition to this Draft.
That would make me very upset. "Looks like Tarzan plays like Jane" is not complementary at all.

Not gonna lie.... When they showed Dez at 1st he looked so Big in that baby Blue shirt that I thought it was Brian Price from UCLA and I got irate! :laugh2: Then I quickly realised it was Dez.

hahaha, he sure did look massive..

I can't claim to be a draft guru but I felt like the bigger needs may have gotten missed with the first pick - OL...To be honest, I know little of Dez apart from the media hype

I am slowly but surely starting to feel a major desire for us to land Nate Allen. Which is pretty frickin weird. I didn't want this guy in rd or even move down to get him in rd 2. Essentially that would have meant we wouldn't have gotten any of the players in rd 1 that I wanted.

Now with the new format and a brand new day, it is like the draft is starting all over again and Nate Allen is the guy I want..big time lol..and I am even willing for us to move up to get the guy. This new draft format is absolutely ridiculous, it might be too exciting lol..

You don't worry about what Dallas did, you need to focus on Inter next week, after that pitiful performance the other day. You hear me? :D

Bigger needs? Yes. Oline, Dline, and Safety are all bigger needs.

But none of the players available were the type of impact player Dez is.

You can't draft for need when a Superstar is sitting in your lap.

Exactly, which is why I mentioned I'm no draft expert...I know of the name, just know little of the player or his abilities...When I was ranking offseason needs, WR was up there but behind OL & safety...Even behind LB

We'll see but I'm sure the pick will generate plenty of excitement apart from shaving RW's price tag down even more
