The 44th pick for JC Jackson?

I probably missed the thread regarding this, but I'm intrigued by the fact the Patriots only put a second round tender on CB JC Jackson. He already has 17 picks in 45 games, including 9 last year, when he should have been voted to the Pro Bowl, & is only 25. Think the Boys would pony up a 4 year, $40M contract, plus the 44th pick? I would jump at it, myself, since he's a stud at 6-1, 200 lbs. Thoughts?

This was discussed on this site...truthfully I don't think anyone on this site watches him enough to know how good he is but I know for myself one telling thing was how he was graded so low by PFF when he had 9 picks.

Cowboys need those cheap rookie deals. Problem is they keep blowing their 2nd round picks.

Nope, that's our 2nd round pick that Jerry will use as his project pick.

Its not the 44th pick. I'd give that up no problem. It's the salary that's the issue. I dont want to use the cap space on a player who doesn't matter with the DT position what it is right now.

I agree.

While corner is still a need.

honestly the DL, especially DT is a major issue.

if the cowboys had a very good DL. Then you could be fine with Diggs, Brown and Lewis plus a draft pick.

the DL is the more pressing issue

Since both players are young and would only be under contract 1 year, a JC Jackson for Michael Gallup trade makes sense.

I vote for this! Even better than Gallup for their other CB, which I’d do also. I’d even kick in a late round pick with Gallup for Jackson.

Yeah, I was gonna say I’d add a 4th round comp pick to the deal

I don't always agree with PFF. All I know is that this team sucks when it comes to drafting defensive players, & they didn't create many turnovers last year.

That's why this team should wise up & value the DT position & draft one in the first/second round.

As much as i like Gallup, me likey this trade. Si, senor, Muy bueno. Then get best available at #10.

I think his talent can be had with an actual drafted rookie on day 2 In My opinion mostly with the price as well
