I'd give him a look for sure. 49ers releasing him doesn't automatically make him trash, that team is in trouble in about every way you can think of and it starts with ownership.

I'd bring him in and see what he has for special teams and punt returns. It's not like we're getting anything at that position right now anyways... or are we going to continue trotting Cole Beasley out there for 0 yards and have him possibly get knocked out of the game? We already lost Lance. For whatever reasons, the coaches don't want to put Lucky back there and Lucky actually seems to have found a role on the offense. Might as well take a flyer on the dude if he drops to us.

I agree during preseason he was good but real season he is equal to what we have on roster at this point in time. He can be better than what we have but I think a year away and we are trying to get the fire started now with this team not next year.
