The 53 man roster is wacky

You're acting like going long on certain positions and short on others to deal with IR and PUP issues on cut day is "whacky."

Stupid is as stupid does.

For reference, I explained the dynamic to my 12 year old niece and she understood it first try. How long you been watching the team?

I think you're probably taking the word "whacky" too seriously.

I'll say what he said. The initial roster is whacky.

I know. I know. Still this configuration is very odd. Holes that MUST be filled.
dont worry, jones boys are on the job! and they are super duper football guys!
But if you read the other threads you would know the why on this.

We all know it will be totally different in two days and we all know the reason why it looks like it does because of stashing guys and the such and we all expected something similar (but probably not exact) and have been talking about it for weeks and see it every year…but…he is right, it is a little wacky. Lighten up folks…did anyones 53 from the prediction thread have all of the following: 1 QB, no kicker, no LS and 8WRs?

let the churning begin!!!

1 QB. No kicker. 8 WRs. I am racking my brain to remember ANY team that had this. I know it will change given other team cuts but No kicker. August 30th and no kicker. No backup QB? August 30th and no back up. It is amazing.

Thoughts?
What a clueless embarrassing post. Be better.

They had the other kicker that wasn’t any worse than Maher. Went with him because he has a stronger leg. If Maher was to get picked up they can bring back the other guy. The Nooch or Grier or Rush will be the backup. Hoping we get some we want on PS. And pick up a good Guard or 2. And would like to keep Brandon the WR around..

Yeah, I thought it was a little unfair to pick on him over his diction. FuzzyWuzzy has been around for a long time. I've had a few rounds with him back in the day. But like most people, if you actually talk to him he's a pretty good guy, really just likes to debate...

I have noticed an overall lack of respect for other members and apparent cliques of posters who have been acting like little cry babies, especially today.

The way I see it, it really is unnecessary to get so personal with people when you're talking about a game. And then others, throw tantrums because they disagree with an opinion, which is what this place is about really.

I'm thinking about changing my avatar to a binky. That way, when I don't reply to the ones insistent on behaving like toddlers, they can just stare at the binky and understand what I mean. I've got better things to do in my life than waste my time on that kind of garbage.

Another Forum loser. Gets off on commenting on posts. Grow up.

Are you telepathic? :)

Another moron. Did I not say I know it would change? I could not remember a roster like this and was soliciting feedback. Morons like you have to take your shots though. You must thank God for the internet.
Its been discussed ad nauseum. In fact every knew they were to do it before they did. We all knew they were going to cut the kickers and LS. And backup QB's were a possibility

I think I'd call it a little risky more than wacky. Still, the odds of losing the guys we need to resign is small. And none of them are so good that someone else's roster manipulation cut couldn't be just as good.

I'd be more worried about my long-term success if I was one of the players a team was willing to risk.

You've got a few guys going to the IR and the specialists and Rush will be brought back. Only question will be if we churn any at OL and potentially dump someone like Ridgeway to PS in their place, but I'm guessing that this is largely your team.
I’m hoping Grier over Rush.

I don’t know how good this team will be, or how these roster machinations will turn out but it really great to see the team do a really good job of self scouting (it seems to agree with the general consensus of the board for once) and then see the team make bold moves to preserve the talent we have worked so hard to acquire.

It seems like our coaches are FINALLY starting to take advantage of the rules and have situational awareness. We didn’t see a lot of that in the Garrett era.

The IR and practice squad rules changed a lot over the past two years due to special circumstances. We are taking full advantage of those rules.

I suspect we have some handshake agreements in place which cannot occur until after all the waivers are processed today and the roster machinations run their course tomorrow.

You will most likely see a player or two come into the picture later this week other than the obvious ones that we intend to bring back.
