I wish they would have tried it. That was a near perfect opportunity, and it was clear the Browns were over matched on both sides of the ball by that time.

I do think Aubrey would have hit it. I want to see the world's first 70 yarder in regulation.

Returner vs mostly bigger, slower dudes IMO wasn't worth the risk if it was short.
Dallas had a good lead at the half, no need to risk that.

When the clocks ticking down, regardless of how the refs screwed up, you have to call TO. McCarthy knows more about football than most people who've ever lived, but when it comes to the small common sense calls, he's doesn't see it. No excuse.
He'll cost us at least 1 game this year with his poor clock management. They won big but it's still Garrett-like to ruin an all time FG out of stupidity

I agree brother, John. We had the game under control. No need to let our emotions on wanting an NFL get in the way of a huge win. Outdoors on natural, makes it a little tougher. That 66 yarder wouldn't have been good at 71, imo.

I didn’t see it anywhere, but was McCarthy ever asked about why he didn’t use one of his timeouts instead of taking the delay of game penalty on Aubrey’s 66 yard fg?
It's because they were supposed to reset the clock when they let Cleveland substitute. It was an error by the officials.

You can't try that with the return man back there. Your field goal unit isn't a punt cover unit. You have linemen that can't cover.

He’s going to end up setting the NFL record this season and you can see it coming. During the preseason he converted a 66 yarder that would have been good from 72. He made a 66 yarder yesterday that would’ve tied the NFL record, but it was negated because of a time out.
