1. Here comes the hate.....This is Tony Romo's last season. He will complete it on his feet but it will be obvious, the injuries to his back and hip will have taken its toll.

He will put up a very very galant effort, playing hurt, his season will end strong. However, it will end with the realization that another one just isnt going to happen.

2. The surprise rookie wont be Ezekiel Elliot, how could it be? He will have a good rookie season but not one that ushers in the next Walter Payton, Jim Brown, Barry Sanders or the Great #22.

Not to worry...The surprise rookie will be Darius Jackson, whose numbers will be almost the same as Ezekiel's.

3. Gregory willI never play another single down of NFL football.

4. Jason Witten will not be the leading TE in receptions this season. He will be productive but there will be an obvious passing of the batan to someone else.

5. The defensive line will struggle in the 1st half of the season.....mightily. They will directly cost the team a victory. However, you will see substantial improvement in just the right time, as December begins.

6. The Cowboy's backup quarterback with the 2nd most plays behind center, will be a rookie.

1. My predictions... not having knuckleheads like Hardy, McClain and Gregory not on the active roster is addition by subtraction... the locker room atmosphere and team unity will be much more better minus the drama...

2. Romo will learn to throw the ball away a little more instead of extending plays and risking injury... relying more on the run game will keep him on the field the whole season barring another clavicle injury...

3. The easier schedule will find the Boys in the hunt for the division title in spite of a weak defense...

4. Gregory will miss this season and eventually get his act together and play next season...

5. The return of a Dunbar, Escobar, Dez and the addition of Zeke will make the offense explosive...

6. Barring injury the secondary will play much better this season...

1. Romos last season. Plays like age is catching up and is injured at some point.

2. Coaching staff gets fired next January after a 5-11 season.

3. JJ hads over the GM job to SJ.

4. We get some promising performances from a couple of mid/late draft choices.

5. EE plays well when he plays, but misses time with hamstring.

Tony said he feels great, and I dont think he is as fragile as some think.
My main concern is so little is done to protect him from gap rushers.

Go ahead laugh!

They all laughed when I predicted:

2014 The Cowboys were going to have a great season in 2014 as a result of finally having a complete season with DeMarco Murray.

2011 The draft critics in 2011 will eat crow when three picks in the 3rd round or lower will be legitimate NFL starters (okay, only DeMarco, but Josh Thomas and Dwayne Harris havent done too bad for themselves.)

2015 Randle will suck in 2015, a.huge step backwards and nowhere near the magic they had in 2014.

2010 Jerry Jones has his eye off the football. In a season that end with the Super Bowl in Cowboy Stadium he has volunteered the team for an additional preseasion game, fractured training camp into 3 different geographic locations and usurped the authority of his HC by ordering offensive coordinator Jason Garrett to report directly to him. This year may completely opposite of expectations after a very good 2009. I have not heard Jerry mention any type of dedicated goal or impassioned crusade to reach this Super Bowl. I predict we will be humiliated when the 49ers , Packers or ("gasp") Commanders play (host?) a Super Bowl in our stadium.

2012 If Tony Romo gets hurt for a sustained period of time he may not get his job back. The McGee Era will have been ushered in.

.....okay, go ahead and laugh at the last one.

I thought your posting style was similar. Its the Steven Mcgee prediction that cemented it. Greetings........ Optical Jim

That would suck if this was romos last season. Not looking forward to 8 years of 4-6 wins.

Jackson will be on the PS.

They are for sure bold! Lol

LOL...Well I would like to think (probably wrong) that they will draft a QB in the first round in the year or two after Romo retires and will focus on making the QB position user friendly. Sure hope so.

If Romo feels great because he says so, he should say we are going to win the Super Bowl and go 19-0 without any INTs. Just kidding, but what else would he say?

I love the last point. I want him to be able to stand back there and get the passes off without the constant threat of pass rushers.

Okay, not the hip, that other thing, what was it? Collarbone?

For my Darius prediction to come true he would have to make the 53 man squad. I think he will. I think he will surprise with the carries he gets, I think he beats out Dunbar for the 3rd spot. I believe that McFaddens up/down career stays true to form and he misses so much preseason they just end up cutting or even trading him.

Romo knows that this could be it for him, he will drag himself on the field regardless of injury. He will treat this season as last opportunity to win a Super Bowl. The Cowboys will take a huge risk and use Dak as the backup. He will come through insofar as he wont do anything to lose a game, just rely on the running game with high percentage shots. He will gain some valuable experience.

It's not out of the realm of possibility for Witten to get 600 yards and another TE to get 650 to 700.

Over the past three seasons Witten has caught 84.5% of all TE receptions. It's understandable that Romo rely on the guy he came into the league with, the guy that probably caught more practice passes from the same QB than any other player in history.

However, Witten didnt sit on a bench for three years like Romo, he has 3 more years of wear and tear. He's one of the toughest guys ever to put on a football helmet but he has got to be feeling it now. He goes out with Romo.

In the meantime, Romo is in his fourth season with Escobar. Despite only getting.targeted 13 times in all three season, he has 7 TD passes, ranked 35th in the league over those 3 seasons.....meaning that if you have 32 teams then only two other TE backups have scored more.

In 4 seasons as a Cowboy Martellus Bennett had 4 TD's in 4 seasons. Fasano had 1 TD in rwo seasons. Escobar also has the 2nd most receptions for a Cowboy TE over the past 3 years.

I really doubt Jackson makes the PS. Someone will pick him up and he will win rookie of the year for another team if we don't keep him on the 53.

Bold predictions......Andy Jones beats out Street for last reciever job and is 4th by seasons end. He will battle Williams for the starting spot opposite Dez.

Irving will be our best DL by the end of the year

Jaylon Smith gets healthy enough to play this season

Swaim will be most productive TE not named Witten

Frazier and Brown both make plays this season for our defense but Byron Jones will be best DB on the team.

Defense will be the reason we win some important games including becoming top 8 in the league and offense doesn't have to carry us.......1 game in the playoffs or to win division will have final score of 6-3 with Dallas winning on a turnover by the defense

I'm definitely worried about #5 coming true. Everyone is picking him to lead the league in rushing, which of course means he will go down with some type of injury halfway through the season. There's a gypsy curse on this team, I tell ya! A gypsy curse!

We start off 4-0 and people on here will already be talking Super Bowl.

We'll end up 8-8. Jason Garrett will still somehow have a job.

I'm not sure why anyone crows about getting a prediction right. It is like flipping a coin. Some you get right, some you don't.

Just like draft picks. Some that you want Dallas to draft do well... others, not so much.
